A Baby Book

Hi Everyone,

My 15 y/o sister is pregnant, she is due possibly at the end of July next year - she gets her definite due date on Tuesday!! She could really use prayers. She also needs advice so I'm asking for advice from parents so that I can make up a book for her - something that she'll beable to keep and use throughout her journey into parenthood. (She is not a christian so it would be best to not mention anything to do with the Church - she is not a believer!!!) I really hope that you all can help. Thank you xxx

As a mother -- go with your instincts! Not just your desires (I DESIRE not to get out of bed this early to take care of my kid...), but your instincts. There are many, many people out there that will argue with your decisions, but remember...no matter how many kids they have parented or spent time with, no one knows your kid better than you do! Your instincts were given to you for a reason...follow them!

And remember...while it's always a good idea to listen to all the advice you can get, it's NOT always a good idea to follow every bit of it! =)

Hold and kiss your baby as much as you want. Do not listen to anyone who tells you that it will spoil the baby. Babies are only little enough to hold and kiss and cuddle for a very short time.

There are plenty of books out there. If you do a search on Amazon for baby care books, it will bring up a whole list.

I agree that we should go with our instincts. However, I had very little experience with children and even less with babies, when I found out I was pregnant. I liked reading the books to get an idea of what things I would have to do, and what the road ahead was going to look like.
