Does any body know why does windows 98 2nd Edition would not down load the critical up date..

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, that is the same information that I had read before (not from that site, but same info).....I don't think anyone sells windows 98 unless you can find it online.....I don't see windows ME in stores anymore either.....

try using this http://www.windowsupdate.com instead of the windows update on your tools menu or out of your favorites.....make sure that you have the new plugin's installed, it takes a while on a dial up connection for it to check for the plugins......and even longer to scan....

Ok, What version of Internet Explorer are you running??? If you think something is wrong with your browser and you don't have IE6 already you can either download it or install it from like an aol cd......that should fix any problems with the browser....

Here is a response that I got from another web forum, I'll keep my eye on the post and let you know if anyone over there has a response.......
Recently had the same problem Doofus. It was a popup blocker I was testing. It blocked the popup boxes that are required like accepting the terms and the download popup. It just sat there until I exited the blocker.

Try to copy the error message if you get one, it can help alot I can run it through the database, and troubleshoot easier, the more specifcs you can list i.e. exactly what you were doing, how many programs you had running ect. the easier it is to narrow down the solutions.
