• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am grateful to say that Friday, October 15, I have nine months sober. I am active in AA, and ready to do my fifth step.

Then that would make you 10 months and 5 days sober today. God bless you and good luck with the fifth step. It's really worth it, the whole thing, all the steps, and especially our higher power who I chose to call God. It got me sober, re-introduced me to a God in my life, and certainly made my relationships better. Have you started on your 8th step yet? Not trying to rush you but after the 5th, the 6th & 7th just naturally follow.

Thanks for the support. I did my fifth step a few weeks ago, and I am on Step 7. Each day, I ask God to rid me of the resentments I discussed in my Fifth Step, and I also learned in my Fifth Step that I suffer from an Entitlement Attitude, and it interferes with my relationships, and leads to my drinking, and other self-defeating and self-destructive behaviors.

I am in therapy, and working on this stuff intensely. I have an excellent Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, who is tough, and excellent inhelping me work through all my past thinking and current thinking that interfere with my recovery and progress.
