  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Today I was reflecting on this second anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Many people seem to be wavering in their fortitude. I think that the terrorists have not even begun to feel what they deserve for these attacks. America was a sleeping giant. Now that we are awake, we need to squash those who seek our downfall through terrorism.

Terrorists have felt nothing, however innocent civilians in Iraq have, as they have lost countless loved ones and jobs. Should watch the video on the man who lost all 6 of his young children, ages 8 and below. Should hear about the cluster bombs that remain unexploded, and continue to kill unknowing children. Is this what you think defeating terrorism is?

No WMD exist, no Saddam has been found, no Bin Laden, no nothing. The only casualties are the civilians.

Reflection? Attacking Afganistan, never catching the masterminds. Blaming Iraq for the attack, without proof, then attacking them. 7,000+ civilians die and over 400+ US soldiers.

3,000 or so people die on day in the USA in one place, yet we care? 30,000 die everyday from ciggarettes, supposedly. Yet, we feel some need to reflect on this attack? Who cares? The only reflection I had was our lacking ability to represent our nation with freedom, peace, and a want to help the world.

I'd probably thank 9/11 for occuring because it brought me into caring about the governments' actions and now seeing how utterly full of **** they are in all facets of their attempts at "Securing Freedom" through death, propaganda, and nationalistic sensitivities.

9/11. A real aniversary of 30 years ago, when the US took out an elected leader of Chile, voted in 4 times previously, for merely being Communist and instating a Dictator who basically set the country back 12 years by allowing full pupetteering.

This day was no different than any other for those without TV, or without somewhat social locations (school, business, etc). It's just another day when some buildings fell down. People still die everyday, much more so than this one occurance. Even more all around the world, when these events like this happen daily.

Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)
Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?
Were you in the yard with your wife and children
Or working on some stage in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke
Rising against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger, in fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?

Did you weep for the children who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below?
Did you burst out with pride for the red, white and blue
And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself and what really matters?
CHORUS (1x)
Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Or driving down some cold interstate?
Did you feel guilty cause you’re a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone?
Did you call up your mother to tell her you loved her;
Did you dust off that Bible at home?

Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened,
Close your eyes and not go to sleep?
Did you notice the sunset for the first time in ages,
Speak to some stranger on the street?
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow,
And go out and buy you a gun?
Did you turn off that violent ol movie you’re watchin And turn on I Love Lucy
reruns?

Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers
or stand in line and give your own blood?
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family,
Thank God you had somebody to love?
CHORUS 2x

CHORUS
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man;
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran.
But I know Jesus, and I talk to God,
And I remember this from when I was young:
Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us,
And the greatest is love.

And the greatest is love.
And the greatest is love.

Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?

We never caught the masterminds huh? Quite a few masterminds/leaders are in custody. Last I heard that Al Quaida is on the run. No major acts of terrorism on US soil in 2 years, is pretty good. We need to stay vigilant, and our FBI and Inteligence agencies need to keep up the good work IMO.

we must fight, sometimes we must take up arms and fight, even us politically correct wimpy united states people, wait that is just one party
I never understood how people who are against war could be called wimpy. It isn't like either of the people who are advocating or speaking against war are actually going to do the fighting. So where does bravery even enter into the equation?

Ah, the idealism of youth.

I remember back when I had all the answers, too---and knew more about international relations than anyone else in the world.

*sigh* Those were halcyon days.......

Then a crummy thing called "reality" hit me when I reached 21, and it just got worse from there forward.

I kept remembering all those indulgent smiles my father used to give me when I would harangue him with my ideas about geopolitik.

I just hated it when I found out that he'd been right the whole time.
