I asked something similar in another post, but is it blasphemy if you say a line in a play that could be interpreted as blasphemous in some context, but it wasn't being used in that context in the play and you didn't mean ut in that context? I feel like I know what the responses will be, but I still feel scared about it, and I want some reassurance from someone else.

It's not Hogwarts. If you said a line in a play to receive Christ, even though you may be an unbeliever, does that save you? No. There are videos made of the gospels. Now if someone was assigned to play the Pharisee that blasphemed the Holy Spirit, do you think God would reckon that person a blasphemer? God's not an idiot.

Hi Victor, I get it. We did a skit a few years ago that was supposed to be a portrait of a real life situation. In it, an atheist used the phrase "GD" to express himself, as many non-Christians sometimes choose to do. While I didn't think that we should have followed the script in this particular case (we could have used less offensive replacements for those words), I don't believe that the brother who had to speak them as part of his lines sinned when he did so.

I remember being very glad that I wasn't the one who had to say them however

If you still feel you have sinned, be sure to ask for forgiveness, of course, but remember that "all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter" .. except one (and I don't believe that it's possible for a Christian to blaspheme the HS like the Pharisees did (or nearly did) back in the 1st Century, because the HS, who indwells us, will not allow it to happen.

Also, as BSBSR already mentioned above, it's not the words, but the heart's intention behind those words that makes the difference, and unlike you or me, God sees the heart

This isn't a thing. Unless you have made some crazy vow of "I will not lie, even while acting in a play".... ok.... maybe you shouldn't have made that vow, or maybe you shouldn't have agreed to be in a play.

But, I'm assuming you haven't done anything crazy. In which case... it's just acting. Acting is inherently fake, and everyone knows you are .... acting.... so you don't need to worry about it. G-d is not so dense he would think "He really meant that! Send the lighting!" G-d is pretty smart. He knows what you are doing.

You are fine. Enjoy the play.
