Back in the day of boomboxes, while out in the Nevada desert late at night, around 80 miles from Area 51, for fun I would play with the tuner dial to get unusual radio signals. Once while listening to what sounded like garbled talking, I heard what sounded like "Earth?... Earth?". And the voice sounded "alien" like the kind of voice that would be used for an alien character in a cartoon or whatever.
