60s bands

Hello everybody,

What do you think, are some bands, like the beatles etc. of the devil ? did some research myself, and was pretty shocked nothing good out there.
There are some good sites around about this.

What do these bands want ? and even unknown bands are used by the devil.. and there are many, many bands, i dont want to listen them anymore

Agreed. Claims that these bands are Satanic or "of the Devil" are really just scaremongering and don't stand up to any kind of scrutiny.

Yes, there are some bands who use occult imagery and even some who are Satanists. But it's a very, very small percentage and nowhere near as prevalent as some people/websites would like to make you think.

Figured I'd follow up with a couple of songs that some might find horrible.

To me the horrible or at least bad part is that there was a reason to write them.

I want to point out the first was written and performed by a 13 year old. Yes a child shall lead them.

Only band I really like from the 60s was the Seekers. They still going strong and sing gospel.
Also in the 70s, the carpenters. Although satan tried to get them as well, and suceeded in killing Karen. That was sad, but I believe her soul was saved.

I agree. My MIL used to know Ted Nugent during his heyday. (worked in the office of his tax accountant) It was all an act.

Have you ever actually known a performer of any kind? For most it is about the performance. Not fame, not fortune. Among singers it is also often about having something to say. It is amazing how often the now famous performers were swimming against the current, not singing what was popular but what personally important.

If it were about fame and fortune they would be following the trends, not leading them. Especially if it was about fortune.

Yes. Some are self interested, not many are true artists. When they get famous, then they get seduced by fame and fortune. Its like writers. First start writing cos they got something to say, then get book deals, them their writing goes downhill.

Many in the music industry, especially pop, are micromanaged and not allowed to express their true selves. Actually many do follow fads.

Eg beatles copied Buddy Holly and the crickets. Named band beatles cos it was similar insect. Also, when they got popular it was not about music it was just performance for them, it was exciting the fans who went crazy and wild.

Performance, is not the be all and end all. If your music is just entertainment and got nothing to say...then its just a show.

True singers sing from the heart.
The beatles, they couldnt really sing. They kind of chanted. Idk, not that keen on them as just singing about the world and all its charms all the time. Whats disturbing is 14 year old tiffany singing I think were alone now...does she even realise what shes singing? About running off with a lover for a tryst.

I mean sure fun if you like that stuff, but its just worldly music appealing to the senses, gets old after a while.

My oh my. You sound just like the Folk Nazis Janis Ian has mentioned. People who gave her just as much Grief about Society's Child as racists did because she committed the unforgivable sins of using more than a guitar and even worse being a financial success.

interesting post, and i do agree. keep in mind, you posted in one of the few sections where atheists are allowed to post, so take with a grain of salt the sarcastic comments.

being born in 1960, i admit, i loved that music, all of it, but switched to Christian music in the late 80s, thank God!!! and now even much of it is satanic in my estimation. so sad is the state of this lost world, and it will only get worse.

sadly, many people do not have spiritual discernment, even on this site. only those in Christ will understand satanic issues, as evidenced by these posts, and it seems to me, we are few and far between. God bless you for posting, sister. i mostly stick to the prayer forum on here. there are believers there and they are kind and wonderful .

Everybody who isn't born again is of the Devil. Because of original sin, it's our default state. That's why the Bible says that we're adopted as children of God when we're born again.

It's fine if you don't want to listen to them, but most of them are no better or worse than any other unsaved person.

Personally, I'm a big fan of bands like The Hollies, the Byrds, The DC5, the Tremeloes, the Left Banke, etc.

I'd be wary of looking for the Devil around every corner.

why would it be whatever i say? who am i? it's what the Bible says. as a Christian, do you not agree that spiritual matters are discerned via the Holy Spirit? this is the teaching of the Bible (as well as my own personal experience). now, i realize that some who call themselves Christian do not believe the Bible is God's word, so if you're one of those, then i see why you said what you did, but if you believe in God and believe the Bible is His word, then you understand where i'm coming from.
