  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Greek-Style Beef & Cheese Ravioli

1 9-ounce package refrigerated cheese ravioli

2 14-1/2 ounce cans diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano, undrained

2 cups lightly packed fresh baby spinach

1 cup pitted ripe olives

1/2 to 3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

Cook ravioli according to package directions; drain.

Meanwhile brown ground beef in deep 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat 6 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up into 3/4-inch crumbles. Pour off drippings.

Stir in tomatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in ravioli; simmer 3 minutes. Stir in spinach and olives; cook just until spinach is wilted. Sprinkle with cheese before serving. Makes 4 servings

I don't know how many we are allowed to post each, so I will post another, and if that is not allowed, just ignore me now. :)

This is one of my favourites. It may sound kind of different, but it is REALLY good!

Brown a pile of hamburger. Place it into a casserole dish. Add a chopped onion, and a can of mushrooms (drained.) Sprinkle in some garlic powder. Add barbecue sauce (amount depends on your own tastes, but I like quite a bit of it). Add a bit of water so it doesn't burn. Bake in the oven for an hour.

One more. Like I said, if I can't post more than one, continue to ignore me. :p

Brown a pile (by pile in this and the other recipes, I mean 1 1/2 to 2 pounds) of hamburger while cooking a package of macaroni noodles. Drain noodles and add them plus the beef to a casserole dish. Add a jar of spaghetti sauce (Prego, Ragu, Healthy Choice, whichever kind you like) and stir it all together. Take small cubes of cheese (we use marble but you can use any kind you like) and bury them all through the mixture. Then sprinkle some grated cheese over the top. Bake in the oven until the cheese is a delicious golden brown.

Salisbury steak

brown hamburger patties
make instant gravy according to package directions, or make it yourself by mixing 1 bouillon cube, 1 cup of water, and maybe a teaspoon of corn starch, and cooking till it's a good consistency.

Spoon gravy over hamburger patties, and serve as is, or over toast or english muffins.
