Binge drinking is bad, but doesn't have the physical addiction properties that are generally associated with alcoholism.

I, and many others, have went from binge drinking to teetoteller without a thought..

Some, maybe. But I doubt that anyone has statistical proof that "many" have done so.

You were lucky. For some it is a life-long struggle.

Thanks for the link DJ--it just goes to show that alcohol is a substance that should not be played with. And those that do 'are not wise'. Not wise = stupid!

Very succient! The depressing part is meeting SDA's who are encouraging the use of alcohol. Of course, it could be worse--they could have gone through AA and say that! Maybe SDA's should be sent to AA and learn that there is no safe lower limit to the use of alcohol--unless you are trying to sterilize something! Then it's "Pour it on!"

Moderation isn't something that people practice anymore. With anything, it seems.

If I had a glass of wine right now, I really think it would make me falling down drunk. It never took a lot anyway, and I don't look back on those days with pride. I never did anything while intoxicated that I'd be proud to tell someone about.

Call me a legalist, but I do NOT miss alcohol. I wish I would've never tried it to begin with.

I am an alcoholic drug addict prostitute and sinner. You seee we all have issues and being something and acknowledging it> is the first step to changing. the same goes for biblical practices and church goers. If we dont keep a stable base we will fall off our podiums flat on our faces. My uncle said the most honest things when he said he was an alcoholic. I asked him " why you dont drink?" well of course not. WE go to church but we are all sinners and praise JESUS for dying for them AMEN.
