* squirrels - the way their bottoms bob up and down like a walt disney cartoon when they move (I saw one in real life for the first time in korea a couple of years ago), cracked me up
* also in korea - stick insects, when you knock them off their perch they stick their arms and legs up in the air like a dead dog or dramatically thrown out to the sides like an accident victim so you'll think they're dead
* my niece
* parrots eating bread and honey on our balcony suddenly chewing frantically at triple speed as the kitten starts approaching

Apart from Jesus, I have no best friend. However, I do have a friend here who is becoming dear to me.

1. He loves the Lord.
2. He daily practices the Scripture: a kind word turns away wrath.
3. He is gentle and loving, yet will be honest with you even when it's difficult to hear.
4. He spends his days helping others overcome their deepest wounds and traumas.
5. He views things from more of a positive perspective.
6. He is sweet, kind, and patient.
7. He spends time talking to me each day, and that means a lot to me.
8. He has a great sense of humor!
9. He is intelligent, yet down to earth.
10 He is physically active.
11. He carves out time to spend with his daughters.

It is Biblically based, there is no dilution of the Word.
It is active and diverse.
It is not formal and rigid.
It believes in upreach (worship and obedience to God, enjoying an intimate relationship with Him and believing it is our highest calling as human beings), inreach (the equipping of the saints for service) and outreach (reflecting God's love to the world and evangelizing those who are lost.)

It is warm and inviting, with a lovely bookstore and cafe. (I am referring to the building now, of course, which I do not consider the "church.")
