Wouldn't it be nice if we had preserved, eyewitness documentation from those who were there?

Of course, then you wouldn't have all these arguments.

Arguments ...... may or might be good when truth is sought within Christ.

When billions reject Christ and oppose the Creator, nothing will stop the arguments.

Do these arguments change anyone's beliefs or interpretations of scripture? From what I read it doesn't.
