Why other religions don't like Christians?

I am not sure which suggestion is more offensive; the suggestion that Catholics aren't Christians, or the suggestion that Catholics don't like Christians.

I find them both equally offensive.. what an absurd question.

No, and I probably won't get a chance, 'cuz Beloved Spouse won't let me have cereal anywhere *near* the bed. She uses a word - "crumbs", I think it is - which refers to something outside my experience; all I know is that the "bad thing" also supposedly happens when you eat crackers in bed. I think she's hallucinating.

Hi all!

BACON??!!

Ewww!!!! Treif! (That means: Not kosher!) Try zhoug, a fiery Yemenite concoction made of hot peppers, fresh cilantro/coriander leaves, and garlic, all pureed. It is not for the faint-of-heart or faint-of-tongue!

If the question is why folks from other religions don't care much for Christianity, alot of Jews (especially among the orthodox & ultra-orthodox) are very, very wary of Christianity & dialogue with Christians. We Jews are blessed/cursed with veeeeeeeeery long memories & remember things that happened 2,000-3,000 years ago like it was yesterday & we take it personally. So many of my orthodox & ultra-orthodox brethren, when they look at Christians & Christianity, see pogroms, expulsions, the Inquisition, forced conversions, our holy books being condemned & burned, the Crusades, the Chimelnicki massacres (100,000 Jews murdered over a 10-year period), anti-Semitic laws, yellow stars, ghettoes, blood libels, the Mortara affair, the 1913 lynching of Leo Frank in Georgia, and the Holocaust.

Me? I take my cue from Israel's two Chief Rabbis, who welcomed Pope John Paul II as a guest and a friend when the Pontiff visited here in March 2000. If Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau (a survivor of Buchenwald & a native of Poland - he & the Pope chatted in Polish) could welcome the Pope as a guest & a friend and, along with Chief Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron, participate in inter-faith dialogue with Christians, how could I do otherwise?

Be well!

Oooh, that *does* sound tasty.

Some day, I will have to send you a photograph of a food item I have actually seen on store shelves. "Kosher-style beef franks with cheese and bacon bits".

Wow, "kosher-style" bacon. I imagine next there will be "kind of kosher lobster." ;)

I don't think I'm suited to live in Yemen, but thanks for the offer, SSV! That concoction, though, in small doses sounds like it could really spice up a casserole...

let us give this person a chance. I don't believe he is being offensive. Just of the opinion that christians attack catholics vice versa etc..and wants to discuss it.
In answer to your question, I am of the belief (after coming here a few months back with the specific intention of trying to figure out why in the world do christians believe what they believe) it is as simple as prejudice. Why are there whites who hate blacks. are they afraid of them? just dont liek em because they are different? who knows. with a religious group, they are dealing with someone whose belief opposes theirs. They may be afraid of then truth they see in their beliefs, therefore, turn angry. who knows :) not being a goddess i can not look into the heart of others...
