1) Because Peter denied him three times and the three times Jesus asked him, "do you love me" coincided with the three denials!

2) Because though Jesus was fully God, He was also fully human and he was in anguish about not only the torment and death which was coming soon, but also about the separation from His Father.
3) Mary was able to change his mind. He was the exact representation of a loving God!

1) Jesus asked Peter "Do you love me?" three times because he knew Peter would deny Him thrice.

2)Jesus sweat blood at the garden of gethsemane because he was so distressed and in emotional pain from the thought of being separated from His Father and the fact He had to willingly die.

3)Jesus most likely had a compassionate heart and also loved His mother enough to conform to her wishes. He was showing that even though He was an adult, He still respected, loved, and was influenced by His mother's care.
