  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, what definition of evolution are you using?

Please describe how these examples show change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations, as a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species.

It seems that you are misinformed (or uninformed) about what the theory of evolution really says.

Individuals don't evolve, populations do, gradually, over time.

Warrior FC: Did the human population evolve?
Certainly, and it continues to do so.
Warrior FC: If so, then from what form?
Paleontologists are still trying to determine this. Here is a simple presentation; in the Lineages section, you can find three different theoretical hominid species trees.

Well, I disagree there.  Metamorphasis happens in one life cycle, evolution requires at least a half breed, or, once again, we're stuck with my smart-butt answer to evolution.  If I swim in a pool for a few years I'll grow fins. :D

Warrior FC: Different species require different environments to survive!

If you take fish out of the water and over time expect them to start growin legs and walking around, you will find that they have died off and have become extinct! They don't evolve into fish with legs and lungs!
You're correct. Of course, this is not what evolutionary theory predicts in the first place. Instead you get all these strange species that can hold their breath for extended periods of time, or that can breathe air or water, and flop around on their fins awkwardly... which, over generations, give rise to species that can operate on land better and better.

And, how do they get to this stage? (breathing both air, and able to take in oxygen through gills--having lungs and gills) Basically, how did they get lungs from no lungs? Also, how many transitions (very minor) would it require to reach the next "stage"?

take care
