I once was in the same place as previous NY Met pitcher, Keith Hernandez.
I did not ask him for his autograph though I was sitting right next to him
I actually left him alone and in peace.

That was very considerate of you - I'm betting he would have been happy to share an autograph though.

Earlier this year my son gifted me with tickets to a Red Wings hockey game - not sure how he scored the tickets, but he did really well. We (my husband and I) actually had better seats than Gary Bettman (the NHL commisioner) - he was sitting near us (but our seats were better - I love saying that) we left him alone though (more to do with the fact that we don't love him than to do with us being considerate).
