  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That was very considerate of you - I'm betting he would have been happy to share an autograph though.

Earlier this year my son gifted me with tickets to a Red Wings hockey game - not sure how he scored the tickets, but he did really well. We (my husband and I) actually had better seats than Gary Bettman (the NHL commisioner) - he was sitting near us (but our seats were better - I love saying that) we left him alone though (more to do with the fact that we don't love him than to do with us being considerate).

edited to add the 3 more (I'm a nightmare at these games):

1. Ghandi was considering Christianity because he saw in it a real solution to India's social caste system, but when he entered a Christian church he was told to leave and worship with his own people. He then decided, since Christianity has it's own caste system he may as well stay where he was. (heard that as part of a radio service the other day.......trying to give us all a reminder).
