I'm hopeful.

I think CC & DL are more than aware of how the audience is feeling in regards to Nikki and Paulo and have probably made the extra effort required in making sure that we're not disappointed. Not only that, but they want to probably cause our pants to fly off.

Didn't they say we would find out in this episode why they introduced them into the show in the first place? That could be a good reveal.

I agree.

I think back to Rose and Bernhard... and even though their presence on the show (as well as the reveal of their backstory) offers minimal utility, I can only expect the same, or more, from a story concerning Nikki and Paulo.

Personally, I think that they may have became members of the Mile High Club while in the plane.

I think Nikki is going to have some connection to someone on the show. They mentioned that Shannon would be in the flashback. I think it might be before they boarded the plane.

Maybe she's Locke's daughter!

I like that episode. It didn't further the plot any, but it was ironic in the end. Perfect ending!

I did not like the ending, though I'm not sure why, it was very well done. I really enjoyed the episode though. There was such a rich tapestry of goings on that I'm glad I taped it.

Nikki and Paulo are apparently in the running for the `most screwed up couple on the island.'

Nikki a `B' movie starlet...`crime solving strippers' (isn't that a bit of an oxymoron?)

Nikki and Paulo commiting murder to get their paws on diamonds. Just how many murderers are there among the lostaways?

I did like the return of Artz, if only via flashback. Smart guy to have more or less correctly worked out where their luggage landed, and his bug collection was certainly interesting. Too bad Nikki didn't pay more attention.

So...these two discovered both the drug smugglers plane and the Pearl Hatch before the `main' lostaways...then showed no real interest in either on of them. Which makes me wonder, again, just what some of the other lostaways (not the primary ones) have discovered on the island that they're keeping quiet about.

As to the spider bites that did them in...I have to wonder if Locke or Jack might have determined their true condition. (Locke, because of his knowledge of the island, Jack because of his medical training). Danielle would have been another one who could likely have determined what had happened.

THAT was a jawdropiing episode!!!

all i could think at the end was serves you right nikki. she was a user and a complete b.....

i thought the way they tied those 2 with the rest of the losties was great but it did bug me about the plane ands the hatch that they never bothered to say anything to anyone else about them. what is up with everyone keeping stuff secret?

my son told me that he remembered in that earlier episode where it showed nikki and paulo going to thr hatch with the other losties that paulo had gone to the bathroom, and now we know it's where he hid the diamonds but i felt bad for paulo at the end.

something that doesn't make sense though is nikki said the paralyzation lasts about 8 hours, shouldn't paulo have opened his eyes first? he got bit first. and also, she opened her eyes when they were still dumping sand on their feet. hello? they didn't notice her eyes pop open that whole time?

i loved when sun slugged sawyer, as much as i love him. he deserved it. i'm actually kind of glad charlie admitted what he did, but i wonder if now claire will turn on him again if she finds out. that would suck

What a waste of an episode!

It didn't move the plot one bit and even though it showed how Nikki and Paulo had interacted with the other Losties, they are now dead so there isn't any future ramifications to their having been there.

What exactly was the purpose to having them on the show?

I just have one thought: Locke told Paulo that nothing stays buried on the island. Will the weight of the sand kill them, or is it possible that one or both of them will be able to crawl out before they sufficate?

I thought it was a great episode. Loved seeing everything tied together.
I wonder too why Paulo never said anything about seeing Ben and Juliette in the hatch talking about Jack doing the surgery. Other than the fact of giving up his hiding the diamonds.

He truely loved Nikki even in all her badness. All she really wanted was the diamonds.

How did Jules and Ben get to the hatch. Through tunnels? Was this before or after he got caught in the net? I assume it was before. Which leads me to believe he got caught on purpose. Ben has a way of getting what he wants.

Again, Sawyer had the best lines. A few times he said, "Who the hell are you" or "who's Nikki"

My first thought of Nikki was correct when she was wondering around after the crash more concerned about where the diamonds were. Not where is Paulo and is he okay. I'm glad she is dead but wish Paulo could have somehow made it out.

you bring up a good point about Ben and i think your right. I think Ben purposely got caught in the net to get to know Jack and what or WHO he could use against Jack!! it worked too, didnt it?

Even though it was a whole entire episode about some people nobody knew a thing about till last night..lol..there were SOME good things in the show..

ben and juliettes discussion in the pearl hatch..
charlie telling Sun what really happened to her...

umm...thats about it..lol..atleast for me. i wasnt overly thrilled with the episode.

Don't get me wrong. It was a good story. I just don't understand why the writers killed them off so quickly. Why tell us all of that and then get rid of the characters? What was the purpose of this episode to the main storyline?

I got the feeling it could have gone either way, i.e. be buried, or wake up at the last moment. The writers did not have to decide until the last minute themselves what would happen. I guess they just weren't worth keeping around for whatever reason.

I did like the way they were weaved into past scenes.

I did like seeing Artz again, but I didn't like the spider thing. At least not Nikki just happening to getting bit out of the blue right after intentinally throwing a spider on Pablo. I mean why hasn't anyone else gotten biten?

Am I the only one who's mad at Sawyer for tossing 8 MILLION DOLLARS worth of diamonds into a sand grave??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

Yeah, for me, the plot didn't budge one bit. I'm guessing the TRUE reason for their inclusion into the show is probably yet to be introduced... because I JUST DON'T GET IT.

While watching the episode, I was hoping to learn that they may have been the ones responsible for some of the unexplained mysteries that we encountered throughout past seasons... like funny dinosaur sounds... or Yemi's corpse disappearing... or that weird question mark that was over the Pearl Hatch. But NOPE, they were just squabbling over diamonds.

Bringing back Boone and Shannon was pointless also. Their inclusion in last night's episode was purely nostaligic, I'm sure.

AND HOW COOL WAS IT TO SEE BILLY DEE WILLIAMS!!! THAT GUY IS SOOOO BAD @SS!!!

So, here's the part that I had to question... When Paulo returned to the Pearl Hatch by himself to hide the Russian Doll, did he close the hatch door behind him? Wasn't the hatch door concealed with grass, sticks and dirt in order to hide it? If Paulo entered by himself, he wouldn't have been able to recover the door with all of the dirt. SO..... why didn't Ben and Juliette notice?

In regards to kimber1's question about Paulo not opening his eyes first... I think that his paralysis was more serious and lasting since he got bit on the neck, and Nikki got bit on her leg.

And Dora... yeah, Paulo isn't gay... he's Brazilian... I think they get confused.
