God's Chosen Method

2Thess 2:13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

God foreordained that salvation would be through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. "For people are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood" 1Peter 1:2

The sanctifying work of the Spirit brings a person to repentance. For "He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment" John 16:8 Paul previously described the gospel coming them saying, "our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction" 1Thess 1:5 Not a soul is saved without first being convicted of sin and repenting from it. That and consequently believing the gospel message constitute God's chosen method through with salvation is imparted. "For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe." 1Cor 1:21 And "consequently, faith comes from hearing the message." Rom 10:17

Mr 1:15 "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"
