• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i feel like i am going mad!

i know im not but life is just so overwhelming right now...

i feel SO out of control of everything in my life!!

i have no physical energy or strength

i have no desire to pray or read the Bible but I want that desire to come back again

i have no self discipline or motivation whatsoever

i am the biggest procrastinator

nothing is working

whats wrong with me???

obviously i can't say what's wrong with you.

i would just like to give you a warm hug, and wish you that this situation is over soon.

things seem to be overwhelming at times but it's like the rainbow after the storm... the rainbow is always there...even if we can't see it with our physical eyes.

it is very good that you are optimistic and you have "the desire to come back again" as you say.

i get like this at times when i just run out of steam and reached a point of the end of my own strength and get discouraged and helpless.....that's when i see God start to work.So hang in there God knows what you need and is always looking after you,if you can't pray...the Holy Spirit will pray for you.God knows all and he understands all,he knows how you feel.I believe God will send a Heavenly Angel to be at your side to help you along this difficult time and bring something good your way.
As for motivation and discipline.....try to pray for God to help you with that and he will.Sometimes you just got to make yourself get up and go and do things without going by your feelings.Discipline takes work and a clear mind ,think about what needs to be done and just do it,make a list of things to do etc..and start at the top .Keep thinking positive and keep a productive mind and your body will follow.satan will try to cloud your thoughts to be lazy,rebuke that ,shake off this laziness and move on.
You have to start with a clear mind and a clear heart and watch God work.You can do it ........get off the computer and get things going....lol.

sweetheart, sounds like you really need a friend, when things are overwhelming, its suprising how it really effects other parts of your daily routine, no motivation, strength, energy and everything you feel. Have you been to the doctors? sometimes just for a few weeks you need some antidepressants, to bring you out of the pit you feel your in. Your doctor would know though, also try and listen to relaxing music, if your struggling to read your bible. Sometimes even if you force yourself into reading scripture, or even coming on here can occupy your mind and lift you a bit. This will end but see your doctor, and try and cry to God about how you feel. He will answer you Love however hard it is to pray.

When times are tough

Reach out to God

I really have found quite a bit of value in the book I reccomended. I have only gotten maybe a 3rd of the way through and have already gained some techniques for overcoming various personal limitations. To be sure prayer is important. But I must also struggle and overcome as much as I am capable of. The Bible gives us the why of life. But sometimes it is up to us to discover how we are supposed to carry out God's will. I feel that I am getting better. I am not where I need to be, but with both prayer and some of the books I have been reading I have been growing.

One other thing that sounds goofy but works is affirmations. Tell yourself good things about yourself that you can believe. For example if you have trouble believing you are a positive person don't say "I am a positive person" instead say "I am becoming a positive person." There is alot more to it than that, but just working at telling yourself positive things can really help.

Nothing in the universe can make you happy exept love and helping other people.

Love is for our souls what gasoline is for cars, without it we are truelly noting, therefore If you feel that you have no energy it stems from the lack of displaying love and help towards other people. If you refill yourself that way, you will be able to enjoy life again, its a continues investment of love and help, remember that and you will live.
