Altaran smiled as the kid grumbled past and out of earshot. He stood there for a second or two just pondering this new personality. He saw this as being an interesting opportunity. He had come home to rest, though, so he resolved not to get too involved … yet. Altaran shouldered his bag, stuck his hands in his pockets and casually headed towards his elevator.
A strange woman brushed past him on her way in the same direction. She seemed to be in a rush and something about her tweaked his conscience. Maybe it was the hair. As Altaran mused, he realized the elevator door was closing. With a quick little hop he smoothly slithered his way in and took a stance right beside the mysterious woman.
He straightened his jacket and brushed it off as if it might have gotten dirty. Once his little charade was finished, he turned slowly to get a good look at the female with him.
“I’m sorry miss, but I seem to recognize you from somewhere. Have we met before?”
