• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wouldn't that be special?

May be they'll be running against Sarah Palin, who will pick as her surprise running mate: George W. Bush.

Just because he's had two terms as President doesn't rule him out as Vice President!

Or may be it will be a Plumber-Bush ticket. (Joe the Plumber and George Bush.)

Here's a weird one:
How about a Jeb Bush - George Bush ticket?
"The Bush brothers!"
Hey, it would make headlines and history!

See, we can all make up fun stuff to speculate about.

Yes it does. No one who has served more than six years as president is eligible to be elected president again. And you have to be eligible to be elected president to be eligible to be elected vice president.

That's what I love about the internet.

You can take some random blogger's musings, and with some appropriately vague language, parley it into a national political crisis of biblical proportions.

actually no such thing occurred. I simply found an article and shared it, along with a couple of questions, to simply foster discussion. That is the point of a message board.

No one said anything about the Bible or a national political crisis. However, I am gaining some interesting insights into your psyche...so your post is not a total waste.

Yes, the Glenn Beck technique of saying that whatever ridiculous theory one might concoct in their head...but putting a little question mark after it so it doesn't mean much...

...as in...

Sarah Palin has a horrific kiddie porn dungeon in her basement?

It's just a question after all.

You are not "the people."

Most people are educated.

Keep it up Dem's the harder you push the more you prove you do not have a clue about what the people think.

It's really this comment that sends it over the top. What should the Dems keep up? There are NO DEMS THINKING THIS. Or at least no Dem's in your link. Nor any that I know.

And how did the party controls the white house and both houses of congress become the party that is "out of touch" with what the people think? The majority of the "the people" were the ones who put them there.

However, the majority of the people did not want death panels and takeovers of the private sector. I don't think there was ever a majority of people that liked the idea of clossed door meetings and bribes to pass new laws against the will of the people.

The party in control now has been the watchmen that brought us where we are today. The 2006 republican control of the purse strings left a 160 billion dollar overspending deficit. The 2006-2010 Democratic congress is working a 1,600 billion dollar deficit annual overbudget spending.

And some economists are saying that we are still not spending enough. The party in control did not cause the financial meltdown (both parties created the perfect storm) but it appears that we have diverted a disaster of epic proportions.

And oddly enough, those same people who used to be against government control of the private sector are now demanding that Obama assume control of the private sector vis-a-vis the BP oil spill, and are slamming Obama for not assuming control of the private sector and doing their work for them.

I swear, there's no pleasing some people...
