  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll probably be even more apathetic and cynical when it comes to that election..
I have a feeling I'll be the same - I already am right now.
But I'm alot more cynical than apathetic.

I'll always get to the booth to vote republican just to undo
1 democratic vote lol (call it spite if you like) :holy: :holy:

To the OP....
I don't know who. I LOVED Fred Thompson, but there's no way
he'll run again.
To be honest I think anyone is out of their tree to even run for
the Presidency in this day & age of world turmoil

I was originally a Huckabee supporter and then, as his campaign wore on and he tried more and more to appease liberals by moving to the left, I just decided that I can't vote for another moderate. I want a Republican who will stand up and be a Republican. I'm tired of RINOs and I'm tired of moderates.

I'll probably end up voting for another third party candidate.

When Rush Limbaugh read off Huckabee's voting record for his own
state, I would have thought he was liberal.
I wouldn't vote for him either - he seems to have morals, but then
everything else appears too moderate to even liberal in taxing.

I'd rather hope there would be another republican with morals AND
conservative spending values to vote for.

How might Gov. Palin fit into all this?
I don't think she's president material at all, but she may go for a
higher office?

I pray God will cause Ronald Reagan to arise from the dead (He's done it before, you know)....

I don't know if there is ANYONE who is smart, articulate, electable and a true conservative at this time. Hopefully one will arise in the next 4 years.

Yeah, but what party would Reagan join? The Republicans would never let him in.

Bobby Jindal is a true conservative. I hope no more RINOS i.e. McAmnesty gain support going into the next election cycle.

The messiah is already showing his ineptitude after little more than a week in office.

Jindal is awesome. I have had the opportunity to meet him and he has shared his testimony in our church. I do not think he will run in 2012, but 2016 I think might be the time. Jindal is committed to reform in our state which badly needed it. He has a solid team and is making good headway.

If anyone notices, he's real big on working people's minds over
before he acts; he sets things up ahead of time.
(first embracing the CEO's of big companies - then publically
tearing them down in chastisement a week later. Kinda like he
did w/ the gun toting people he embraced one wk., then mocked
on another campaign stop).

He chastises certain people/things/groups; first you persuade the public, then you act after they've been conditioned & prepped.
For anyone who checks their brains in at the door, they'll be
easily decieved by this leader.

& one thing is for sure, he CANNOT take criticism well at all.
Him going after Rush Limbaugh publically shows his weakness.
Bush NEVER went after his opponents by name, using his
office to get back at anyone....
this is one of Obama's biggest weaknesses - he did this to people in his
campaign too. Too bad so few saw it. (even if they did,
would they give a poop?) no.

Who would you like to see as a TRUE Republican ballot for the elections of 2012?

For me, I would like Huckabee/Jendal.

I think Huckabee is good. He seems to have a knack for sticking to all his conservative principals AND making everyone like him. Its a rare quality. Ronald Reagan had it. Bush did not

I expect this will be good news within the political conservative community

Michael Steele becomes first black RNC chairman
Everyone seems happy he was chosen.

Dick Morris (former Clinton Advisor) has said that it's actually good
that a Republican didn't win the election this year becuz it's going
to be a bad few yrs for this country economically.

I'd agree except look the damage this majority can do in the
meantime. Sadly, we handed it to them on a silver platter for
all our mishaps.

Well, considering that the economy will still be struggling in 4 years... possibly a full-on depression if the Dem's get to spend as much $ as they want... we'll need someone who can really focus on the economy. So far I am thinking Romney should be that person. But 4 years is a long time for the newer names to gain in rep and popularity. If I picked right now, it would be Romney/McCain. McAmnesty will be too old in 2012 though.
