CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here we go again.. same theme. That's me in the foreground with my babycam and my microphone in the back pocket. What you can't see is that I'm dressed in my sunday best... I was on my way to church!
And, after a hard day's work.. I like to nap in the TV live truck.

Howdy! I'm at home for an hour or so - just left camp, about to go to my youth pastor's house to stay the night so tomorrow we can go to California hooray! Here are some pictures from the past few days...
Elias and I on Sunday, after church. These are our cheesiest smiles.
These are our sad faces!!!
As part of our training we discussed the core values of camp: spiritual development, emotional development, self-esteem, skill building, friendship and fun.. we make collages of them. These are two of my closest friends, Beth and Gretchen. I made this bigger because if you see the bottom left corner, there's a picture of a guy with a sword on fire under "Skill Development." I found that one. It was epic!!
In addition to leading a discipleship program at camp, I am apparently part of the Christian Education Team.. this was my pile of sitting in the sun, going over chapel stuff, and working on writing a script for a chapel. I got absolutely nothing done.
For part of orientation, we did a supervisor training session. To get a better grasp of some skills they taught us, we sat in two lines and addressed problems with each other, as if we were the other person's supervisor. This was the view down the line.
Me and my friend Annie. Don't mind my gross hair and my acne.. yayyy for stress breakouts!!!!
Annie and Shanna were across the circle from me and they were like "Take a picture of us!!!" but I couldn't zoom in far enough to get just them so I made sure to get a picture of Aaron. He's from Ireland and he is SO INCREDIBLY FUNNY that I cannot even handle myself around him.

This morning we were given 45 minutes to be alone with God for prayer.. there's a bench down by the river (I'll take a picture of it sometime) where I have consistently met with the Lord for the past 7 or 8 years every summer. It is such a powerful place to me.. I was like 10 feet away and just started crying because I felt the presence of God. Anyway.
God asked me to be quiet and listen to his creation, so I sat on the edge of the deck and listened to the birds and the wind and the things plopping in the water. It was amazing. Anyway, I took some pictures from my quiet time with God. There are my flip flops sitting on the edge of the grass by the lake.
In the quiet, God reminded me of a time when one of the pastors at my church, talking about the sun standing still for Joshua, said that when God is ready to move, the universe is ready to respond.. all of creation was made to respond to its Creator. God showed me that the trees were standing at attention.. the grass was pointing to him.. and I saw this little guy and thought "it is bowing down!" so I took a picture Behind it is the Colonel Bob Trail.

awww, when i was like 7, my brothers and I found a fawn at my grandma's house. We played with it, then took it to a man that took care of hurt animals. The mother had been killed. It was so sweet. I have pictures of it somewhere.....

Oh, of course.
The boys were so excited to find it. One of them was dancing around singing about finding the baby deer. I thought it was pretty neat...I think the kids could identify with it, and were enjoying the thought of taking care of something that had been abandoned like most of them have also been. That is sweet, Mina.
We have taken in a lot of needy animals.
