Really? Have you seen any of the films nominated? I mean, 80 % of what's there I think sucks, including and specially The Aviator and anything related to it, but not all of them.

Anyways, I hope Catalina Sandino Moreno gets the oscar, but I think it's gonna go between Hilary Swank and Annette Bening, just like it did back in '99.

"The Downfall: Hitler and the End of the Third Reich (Germany)" is a big success in Europe both among viewers and critics. I 'd like to watch it soon.

There were some crictics who claimed it portrays Hitler too "human" which may tempt people to sympathize with him but I don't think it's really the case based on what I have seen and heard of the film so far. It portrays him human because he was a human being and that's it really. It doesn't mean he is likable in the film, not at all!! All Nazi leaders are portrayed like they were: evil. (Martha Goebbels for example killed her six children, how can anybody sympathize with that?)

I'll watch it and then I will make up my mind, but I'm very curious.

I'm incredibly behind this time. Last year I managed to see all the best picture nominees. This year I've only seen Sideways. No way I'll be able to catch in time. I guess it's just an awards show. Quality is in the eye of the beholder!

I think it's crazy they are deviating from their traditional high-class hosts. They're choosing Chris Rock. His jokes are very crass and I don't know...

I think the Academy Awards are a joke though. These films and actors are as different as apples and oranges. How does anyone judge when the premises and themes are so different? All I think goes into these decisions is whether the critic liked the movie or not.
