• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Each of the others can include discipling, but as a focus, a ministry of discipling brings up new Christians in the essentials of the faith, teaching others so that they can in turn teach others also. Seveal of the guesses overlap each other, and in truth, many of them are all our responsibilities. I had discipling in mind because this is where I believe God is calling me. No one ever took me under their wing to teach me the essentials and instill in me Spiritual disciplines. My growth as a Christian suffered as a result. Once a Pastor did this, though, my life changed. He was doing more than just the office of Pastoring the flock. It was a one on one thing. It is something we all can do to a degree.

If that doesn't help, then I hope this does. It was my game and my rules so there. :p Hahaha JK

I celebrate my happiness and the importance of each and every one of these ministries by sharing blessings with all who posted here!!!!
Thanks, BUT it really was not about the blessings.

I just took his explanation wrong that we were bad for not coming up with his answer when it certainly was covered by many that we listed.

And I think some people do not usually think of all the "drudgy" jobs as a ministry when they certainly are.

So sorry you were not properly discipled when you were a new Christian.

Thank you CC. I think there are a lot of us out there. It is a shame because when we are not well grounded in the essentials, we are easy targets for 'every wind of doctrine'.

You know, I never had any kind of intentional discipling, either. There are some issues I dealt with as a teenager that I think would have been easier if I had known some of the basics of the faith... my heart was in it, but I lacked grounding. There was so much I learned from experience... from friends in college... from seminary... and things that I am still learning.

Discipling each other is a crucial ministry -- our spiritual needs don't end when we convert.

That was me as well... I became a Christian when I was in second grade and never had any sort of spiritual leadership until I was a sophomore in high school :) Made it much easier for backsliding, and much harder for growth...
