CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Now, the point. Ahh, this had a point? Heh. First, if you are wondering what you could be doing for the sake of your Lord, take a look at these posts. Don't know what area God is calling you? Try some of these, and pray for guidance.
Second, look how long it took us to come up with 'discipling others'. It seems like a lost discipline these days, and yet it is so very important. I pray that the church will give better heed to this, for His glory.

We named many ministries.
Many of the ones listed include discipling others.
Probably most - that is what we are called to do as Christians.
Certainly to name a few pastor and missionary.

You know, I think you're right. We think about personal holiness, orthodoxy, evangelism even... but we forget that there are brothers and sisters all around us that need what we have to offer.
And despite my silly posts, I enjoyed thinking of all the different areas of ministry. It is true that every member has a function within the body. Whether you fold the Sunday bulletins, count the offering, plug in the equipment, assist people in from the parking lot, or even clean the bathrooms... you are a valuable part of the body and very needed.
