Awashinlove-why are kittens temps so much lower than adult cats?
Hm, I just know what I had to keep track of with my foster babies concerning temp.

Please, don't take me for a complete idiot. I have raised a kitten before and she is currently 7, maybe, years old and doing fine. It has just been a few years since i've done it and i was asking for suggestions from people who have done it recently.
Didn't, and it's very easy to
raise a kitten even for those of us who are.

It's just not good for the cat. Most hand-reared kittens have their lives shortened to their teen years (you often will see signs of old age as soon as they're preteens), and a Cornell U. (I think it was CU, might've been PA State) study a few years back showed they're more susceptible to cancers, especially those acquired in vaccine spots, which I've guess you've probably witnessed are very painful for the cat. Human-raised cats also show much lower IQs, but since you have another adult cat perhaps you can encourage them to spend time together.

Where i live, we don't have rescue groups, which i believe i stated earlier, so finding a replacement momma kitty wasn't really an option. And please don't tell me that the vet would know of one. My mom has worked at the local vet clinic for 26+ years and i've worked there part time for 4 years. we would know if there was a rescue group
Hey, didn't know that about this, of course. The reason I referred to your vet was because I worked as a foster parent for a dog rescue based out of Ohio (I'm in PA), I foster my birds through a rescue based in NY, and my current two foster cats are through a rescue based a few hundred miles away in upper PA (I'm in lower, below Philly). Most local people who adopted my foster babies or signed over their pets through me into a rescue only knew about me being nearby because a vet sent them my way. We would get the animals from place to place through PUR (Pet's Underground Railway). Vets also often know of nursing mommies through either breeders or other rescues someone else may have taken in (it's a good time of year for strays to wander into someone's shed, garage, or whatever and birth even more strays). So not being aware of your closeness with your vet, I thought I would rec this outlet.
With a kitten so mobile I can't imagine she's younger than 4-5 weeks, as you probably know, and at that point mommies aren't so accepting, anyway.
Blessings,
