I am a born again Christian but not sure how to examine my life according to these verses. I would like to take the summer to pray/listen to see what is next for me in the fall and beyond.

These verses, point out our faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. How much does your heart want to obey Jesus's teachings? When I read these two verses, you shared, that is the question I asked myself. I want to do my best, to be like Christ, for others. The best way I would reflect, taking those verses into account, is to read and study what Jesus wants me to do, with my life, based on his teachings. Which you can find in the four gospels, to start. The best scripture I'd use to launch into this would be Matthew 22:34-40:

34 But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, gathered themselves together.
35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, trying him: 36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second like [unto it] is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

Thank you for asking asking your question, they are good verses to point us in reflection.

Ensuring our commitment to Christ by demonstrating growth in Christlike qualities.

Is our faith productive? As we live out our faith, are we becoming more faithful, prayerful, patient, loving, humble, wise, obedient, forgiving, and virtuous?
