  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Kill me now. I feel horrible and sick and exhausted 24-7 and my kitchen is SCARY and I can't get my body to do anything. 3 weeks +/-, and then I better feel better. :help: I'm counting on it, I just have too much to do to feel like this forever. I need to fix the end room and paint it so that we have room for this baby. I'm crabby too and did I mention tired???

Yeah, but I'm blessed. I am really happy to be pregnant.

This part is just really annoying. I have a lot to do before those last one-two months of yuckiness.

I remember first trimester, not much fun.

I began taking Fish Oil caplets and that really helpped with the tired, baby brain etc. They have lots of Omega 3s and good fats for your brain and the baby. I got this HUGE bottle for six bucks from walmart.

I'd come help you but the last 4-5 days have been rough and my kitchen is very gross right now...:sorry:

Do you have an friends of family who might be able to help you out a bit? I know during my first trimester though I wasn't sick at all I was exhausted all the time and my mom offered to come help me out. I personally say you get a free ride the first trimester, you're growing vital organs here and your body is in totally overdrive. It is nice to have someone help even for a day if you can get it.

Lol, I hear ya.

I've only got 4 weeks to go and I feel horrendous! I don't seem to do anything but sleep right now and it's driving me mad! My house is a mess and I just don't have the energy to clean up other than getting essential stuff done. In fact, even walking up the stairs just about kills me. :sigh: Maybe it's due to the fact that's it's quite warm here too...I reckon I'll try and make sure the third trimester is over the winter if there's another time...

Anyway, I don't know what to suggest as I think it must be MUCH harder when you've already got a little one to care for as well as being pregnant...the mind boggles...:help:

The thing about the kitchen is I swear it smells funny. Even the drains. Its hard to go in there. I thought this would be a lot easier because last 1st trimester I was going to college and working 40 hours a week and I survived. I guess I was in better shape then because my job was so physical, that's all I can think of. I thought since I didn't have a job it would be easier.

My husband dubbed it my 'wolf senses'. It is one of the first signs that I'm pregnant...my uber sense of smell.

I have found each and every pregnancy so different. I have had some that are near to death, and some that have been relatively easy. The big points of struggle often coming at different times in my pregnancy.

The most tiring part right now for me is emotionally coping with being reduced to living simply to just fet through the day...I feel hollow...

I couldn't get over the 1st trimester smells... I didn't cook at all for almost 3 months, and if my husband wanted to I'd leave until he was done eating and had dishes cleaned up. I just could no tolerate the smell.

I was also neasous 24x7 and in the 3rd month would actually throw up 3 or 4 times a week.

I can't say how happy I am that weeks 6-17 have come and gone, I can't imagine how miserable I would have been if it lasted this whole time.

I can cook now, I have no problems with smells (even my lovely candles would drive me nutty before). I can clean, eat and whatever.

Nothing helped (not even crackers). The best thing for me was just to be away from smells, and never eat anything fried. It was best for me to eat frutis and raw veggies because they don't smell much. Ice cream was okay too... and that was about all I ate.

I wish I had some advise for you, but I'll keep watching this thread so that I might be able to gather advise for next time, as I haven't found something that worked.

Oh, I remember the first trimester smells. It was *everywhere* and I couldn't get away from it. When my DH would ask me what it smelled like, I couldn't even begin to describe it...just BAD. It seemed like I would never get over that phase, but I did. My sense of smell is still sensitive, but at least the "phantom" smells are gone!

Lol, just the first trimester???

I've had a funny nose the whole way through. EVERYTHING smells weird, and things just don't taste the same. Even my dh smells different than normal...lol, and the perfume I use doesn't smell the same as it did before...grr. :sorry:

Eurgh. I'm just getting to the end of this... hubby has been amazing all through. I hope your symptoms settle down soon!

One thing I noticed... the multivitamin I was taking seemed to cause nasty nausea the day after I took it. It was a high-quality one with nothing that SHOULD cause problems... but after hearing others say that their pregnancy multi made them sicker, I thought I'd drop it and see what happened. Lo and behold - I felt LOTS better!

Amazingly the lower priced ones seems to work better for a most people I've talked to. I had that problem as well and decided to try the Walmart brand which works great for me.

As far as vitamins go, Floradix + Iron & Herbs is FABULOUS. It's a liquid, and has a Good taste (not a strong vitaminy taste that you'd expect), probably because it's Plant based. So even the Iron that's in there is plant based and it won't constipate you. You take it twice a day, right before eating. Here it is at VitaminShoppe.com http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=FL-1011

I had certain types of aversions with each of my pregnancies. One pregnancy I could Not swallow my B-Complex tablet. The Smell of B vitamins Nauseated me. That same pregnancy I could Not take smelling yeast... which was really difficult since I was making all our bread everyday in my bread machine.

With 3 of my pregnancies the smell of tuna grossed me out (and if I ate it I'd get a migraine). Probably the Worst, though, was the pregnancy where my gag reflex was Incredibly sensitive and I gagged on nearly everything I tried to swallow. :o

That's what I found too. The high priced ones or the scripts have a bunch of extra stuff in them, made me feel horrible. Cheap walmart ones work great and the pills are a lot smaller.:)

I quit taking vitamins after trying like 5 different ones ( i just can't afford to keep trying different vitamins). I have been eating copious amounts of cereal instead...I figure it's better than nothing.

But I also decided that if it was making me sick- that was my body's way of saying "Don't ingest that".

I don't recommed it- but I feel phenomenally better since I stopped taking my vitamins.

I couldn't take vitamins with my last baby, either-- though I'd try from time to time...and she is my happiest, most cheerful little one- and the only one who didn't have colic (there is no correlation there, just that I figure trying to eat the best I can will not make or break the baby's health...so I'll just do my imperfect best!)

Hmm well I am not throwing up, so that's crucial. Since all it is is feeling nasty, really nasty, and like I *might* throw up.... there is no way I will stop taking vitamins because I would rather feel like crap and know my baby was getting his/her vitamins and my body too. I do use the Walmart brand right now. :)

It was in no way meant as a recommendation- just what I have done (but I do drink Spirutein--which is probably just as good as my vities).
