• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You never really " adjust " to these kind of med problems. The only thing we can do is pray constantly, take our meds , pray constantly, and take help when given, and did I mention , pray constantly? :)
You will have really good times and some bad. Just always promise that if you ever feel like harming yourself in any way, please call someone!
MAY GOD ALWAYS BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!

I am also new to CF and recently diagnosed with Bipolar type 2. I am still learning about it. I also have a mild form of OCD. I was diagnosed with OCD years ago and I have been on Zoloft for it for years. The Zoloft helps some, but I am learning to avoid things that trigger my OCD. I actually keep a log of when I have an OCD episode (mine manifests in me picking my skin) and then I write down the thoughts that triggered the episode. It is helping me to understand why I pick at my skin and how to avoid it (even though I still struggle).

One of the best forms of "therapy" for me is when I feel like picking at my skin I blast praise music and it seems to calm me down...works better than the Zoloft!

Hope this helps some - you can PM me anytime and maybe we can learn together!
