Let's try to put ourselves in this guys shoes...I was frustrated in the beginning, too, b/c you truly could not do anything whatsoever unless you had blessings...

What is also annoying and unedifying is going to the boards where anyone and everyone can post regardless of their faith (or lack of) in God. I learned quick to stay away from those folks b/c you end up turning off your computer mad and angry at individuals blaspheming God, pro-choice, pro same sex marriage, and the list goes on. I have often questioned the same things he has about this forum and asked myself "What does this forum really present?" where Christians are constantly warned for not watering down their faith through posts, but yet non-Christians and the like seem to be able to post anything they want with no repercussion.

I admit his anger is pretty quick to act, but I sympathize whis his comments.

Ginny took such care to post a well reasoned response, and this was your first thought?

My question to you is, "who should care one way or the other what you think?"

There are many in the world who say that playboy/playgirl pictures are "tasteful and artistic" that dose not make them right. Job 31:1 says "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl." Here Job is standing firm in his commitment to purity. He knows that to look at a girl with lust in his eyes is the same as commiting adultery. the same is true of women looking at men. This piece of "art" has a nearly naked man who is, I am sure, to be considered very attractive, thus it may cause some to look lustfully at it. In Matthew 5:28 Jesus said "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." While the picture its self May not be "dirty" what it can do is cause one of our sisters or brothers (depending on their history and what Jesus has and or is saving them from) to fall in to sin. In 1 corinthians 8:13 (talking about eating meat sacraficed to idols) "Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall." We need to be very careful about some things as christians.

1. That we do not cause our brothers and sisters to fallin to sin.
2. The world is watching EVERYTHING we do waiting for us to trip up so they have a basis for rejecting Jesus, justified or not.

I am sorry that I came off as sounding harsh in my original post. I will make no excuses for doing it I just offer my apology. But we really need to be careful about how we as christians are representing Jesus Christ to a lost and hurting world. Even something that seems so minor as an avatar that may look lude (what ever the artists intent) can send the wrong message to the world.

In Christ,
Jerry

This "first thought of mine" was not an attack on Ginny. I was simple restating my concern about the avatar. I did and do apologise for attacking this forum in my first post. I jumped the gun. Jesus commands us in Luke 17:3 "So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him." I saw my error and took corrective action for my part.

StevenL,

Thank you for supporting my idea about the avatar. :amen: . I am sorry your blessings got stolen, and I am glad you got them back.

Jerry

I didn't get them back. I had about 4-5 thousand at one time. They got wiped out somehow. My life hasn't been the same since.
