Hey Bro. James,

We mean no disrespect here. There are many of these that deal with what seem to be 'community standards' sort of like baptists and alcohol. It's not a sin to have a beer although most baptist's prefer to abstain.

:) We appreciate your insight. Above you said "Some teachings may be false, but a lot are plain common sense of not accepting things of this world...," I am curious if you can tell me if the following are true beliefs:

60. You cannot read any anti-Jehovah's Witness material

83. The Lord's supper is only to be eaten by select Jehovah's Witnesses (144,000 group-99.99% of Jehovah's Witnesses are forbidden from taking the Lord's supper)

84. The Lord's supper can only be offered once per year

and:

23. You cannot buy girl Scout cookies

(I am especially curious about this one because I love GS cookies! :yum:)

Peace to you,
Bro. Mark

If I answered your questions with Scriptural references that The Jehovah's Witnesses believe I would be thrown out of this forum.

Sitting in the Baptist forum and spouting Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs is a delicate juggling act. Likewise if I was to start discussing the differences at my church I am sure the pastor would have me out on my ear. As it is he now knows I am a former Jehovah's Witness and doesn't ask me to respond in any Bible study anymore.

Go to where the other Jehovah's Witnesses hang out and ask them. Or I can reply in pm so I don't tred on any toes.

It's sad that even this forum has become SOOOOOO politically correct that pointing out the false doctrine of an accepted cult draws accusations of hate.... and apologies from everyone out of fear that they may have offended.

I do not know if this is true but I would die if I was a JW if it is: (I am a drama kid)

98. You cannot participate in a school play

These also rub me the wrong way:

79. God is not omniscient "all knowing"
80. God is not omnipresent

James, no one is going to throw you out. Since you use to be a JW your the "resident expert" as to what they believe and we welcome your input very highly. We know you are not JW anymore and know that your not trying to break any rules.

Per baptist forum rules we are allowed to discuss other faiths & doctrines amongst ourselves. My purpose in making this thread was for this reason. I read it, found it to be curious and wanted feedback from my brethren here.

You dont have to live in fear here man. :)

By all means brother, please inform this thread of the accuracy of these statements. If ANYONE here should ask anybody, it would be you. You have come out to the truth and you know alot more than most here about the JW religion. Don't be afraid to explain this. My ears are wide open and my toes have callouses on them, it wouldn't hurt for them to be trampled on a bit.
Spill it brother. I want to be educated about this. I know enough to see that part of the list is incorrect. I might even be able to provide the scripure to defend and also to refute the doctrines, but you are the one who can explain it the best. Go for it!
