  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1. Is Jesus God?

The Gospel of John speaks more clearly than any other of the deity of Christ. There can be no doubt: the Bible does teach that Jesus of Nazareth was fully God as well as truly man.
This teaching does not, of course, rest only on what we find in John’s Gospel. There are many other passages that affirm Jesus’ deity. Among the most powerful are:
Colossians 1:15–20. Jesus who expresses the invisible God was Himself the Creator of all things, and has priority over all.
Hebrews 1:1–13. Jesus is the “exact representation” of God’s being, and sustains all things by His own powerful word. He is, as God, above all created beings, including the angels who are so superior to mortal man.
Philippians 2:5–11. Jesus, though “in very nature God” voluntarily surrendered the prerogatives of Deity to become a true human being. Now that He has been resurrected He has been exalted again, and in the future every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
It is this Jesus, God from before the beginning, whom John wants to show us in his Gospel. And from this Gospel John wants to teach us how to respond, from the heart, to Him as Saviour and Lord.

No, job ansered this...

10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

4. Is homosexuality okay or wrong?

In Rom. 1 Paul condemns homosexual acts, lesbian as well as male, in the same breath as idolatry (vv. 23–27), but his theological canvas is broader than that of Lv. Instead of treating homosexual behaviour as an expression of idolatrous worship, he traces both to the bad ‘exchange’ fallen man has made in departing from his Creator’s intention (vv. 25f.). Seen from this angle, every homosexual act is unnatural (para physin, v. 26), not because it cuts across the individual’s natural sexual orientation (which, of course, it may not) or infringes OT law (contra McNeill), but because it flies in the face of God’s creation scheme for human sexual expression.
Paul makes two more references to homosexual practice in other Epistles. Both occur in lists of banned activities and strike the same condemnatory note. In 1 Cor. 6:9f. practising homosexuals are included among the unrighteous who will not inherit the kingdom of God (but with the redemptive note added, ‘such were some of you’); and in 1 Tim. 1:9f. they feature in a list of ‘the lawless and disobedient’. The latter is especially important because the whole list represents an updated version of the *Ten Commandments. Paul parallels the 7th commandment (on adultery) with a reference to ‘immoral persons’ (pornoi) and ‘sodomites’ (arsenokoitai), words which cover all sexual intercourse outside marriage, whether heterosexual or homosexual. If the Decalogue is permanently valid, the significance of this application is heightened still further.

5. Who will enter into the Kingdom of God?

This idea of present fulfilment and of a new age comes out particularly in the teaching of Jesus about the *kingdom of God, one of his central themes. He used the term in a wide variety of contexts, so that its essential meaning needs careful definition. It means the sovereignty of God, the situation in which God is in control, his rule or reign. Now while in one sense God is always in control, it is also a fact that man rejects his sovereignty and rebels. The ‘coming of the kingdom’ therefore denotes the practical implementation of God’s rule in human affairs, and it was this coming of the kingdom which Jesus announced as he began his ministry (Mk. 1:15). Other sayings reinforce the message that his coming already brought into operation the rule of God (e.g. Mt. 12:28; Lk. 17:20f.). Thus he could already speak of people ‘entering’ or ‘receiving’ the kingdom (Mk. 10:15, 23–25; Lk. 12:31; 16:16), and assure his disciples that ‘Yours is the kingdom of God’ (Lk. 6:20; cf. Mt. 5:3, 10).
At the same time, there is an important sense in which the kingdom is still future, when it will ‘come with power’ (Mk. 9:1; cf. Mt. 6:10; Lk. 19:11; 22:18); for the acceptance of God’s sovereignty which was open to all men in Jesus’ ministry, and which was realized in the experience of those who followed him (in that sense the kingdom was already present), would one day become a universal fact, when all men everywhere would recognize the rule of God.
That future consummation is the ultimate horizon of Jesus’ proclamation of the kingdom, but it is the final completion of a process already begun in his earthly ministry. The new era which Jesus came to bring is the era of the rule of God. As individuals respond to his message, that rule is progressively established. The ‘already’ and the ‘not yet’ combine in a grand panorama of history, of which we have yet to see the culmination. But at the centre of it stands Jesus himself, for it is in response to his teaching and through faith in his saving work that a man can be restored to a true relationship with God, and so ‘enter the kingdom of God’.

6. Why are people sick with illnesses and disease?

The topics of suffering and disease, in the Bible, are closely bound up with the questions of the nature and origin of evil itself. Suffering is a human experience, with diverse causes, and is one of the results of human sin. In the case of suffering from disease, the link is not usually obvious, though sometimes the illness is directly connected. From the account of the Fall of man in Genesis it is clear that soon afterwards man knew insecurity, fear and pain (Gn. 3:16:17). Here ‘iṣṣāḇôn (av ‘sorrow’) is better rendered ‘pain’, and then mental anguish (Gn. 4:13). The direct connection between sin and suffering becomes rapidly more complex, but nations which obeyed God were, in general, promised freedom from disease (Ex. 15:25–26; Lv. 26:14–16; Dt. 7:12–16 and ch. 28, especially vv. 22, 27, 58–61). On the other hand, pestilence is one of the three sore judgments on the people of God (Je. 24:10; 32:24; Ezk. 14:21) and on other nations, e.g. Philistines (1 Sa. 5:6) and Assyrians (2 Ki. 19:35). There are passages such as Ps. 119:67, where the sinner himself is involved, and the case of the impotent man healed (Jn. 5:1–16), where his own fault is perhaps implied (v. 14). David’s sin involved the afflictions of others (2 Sa. 24:15–17). On the whole, human suffering, from disease or from any other cause, is the effect on the individual of the spiritual malaise of the human society of which he is an integral part. In Job 1 something is seen of the activity of Satan. This is also apparent in Acts 10:38, where the sick are spoken of as ‘all that were oppressed by the devil’ and in the suggestive parable of the wheat and tares (‘An enemy has done this’, Mt. 13:28). Again, Christ himself spoke of ‘this woman, whom Satan bound … ‘ (Lk. 13:16).http://foru.ms/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=39373559#_ftn5
7. Why was the man Christ Jesus never sick or ill?

In all things He was human, so He may have gotten sick, we just are not told either way.

8. Are you suppose to repent daily or only once when you first are saved?

One of the Hebrew words for repent means “to turn.” The prodigal said, “I will arise … and he arose” (Luke 15:18, 20). He not only thought upon his ways, and felt sorry because of them, but he turned his steps in the direction of home. So that in a very real sense repentance is a crisis with a changed experience in view. Repentance is not only a heart broken for sin, but from sin also. We must forsake what we would have God remit. In the writings of Paul repentance is more of an experience than a single act. The part of the will and disposition in repentance is shown:
(a) In the Confession of Sin to God
Psa. 38:18—“For I will declare mine iniquity: I will be sorry for my sin.” The publican beat upon his breast, and said, “God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18:13). The prodigal said, “I have sinned against heaven” (Luke 15:21).
There must be confession to man also in so far as man has been wronged in and by our sin (Matt. 5:23, 24; James 5:16).
(b) In the Forsaking of Sin
Isa. 55:7—“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord.” Prov. 28:13; Matt. 3:8, 10.
(c) In Turning Unto God
It is not enough to turn away from sin; we must turn unto God; 1 Thess. 1:9; Acts 26:18.

yes,
Scriptural consideration for this doctrine is found in John 10:27–29 where Jesus emphasizes that He gives eternal life to the sheep and they cannot ever perish. In Romans 8:29–30 Paul indicates that the ones God foreknew, He predestined, called, justified, and will ultimately glorify. None are lost in the process. Ephesians 1:3–14 also emphasizes this truth. God the Father planned the salvation of certain ones and marked them out for salvation (Eph. 1:3–6); God the Son secured their salvation by redeeming them through His blood (Eph. 1:7–12); God the Holy Spirit effected their salvation by sealing them—the sign of their eternal security (Eph. 1:13–14).

10. How many people will enter into God's gates?

“All that the Father has given me, will come to me.” (John 6:37.) http://foru.ms/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=39373559#_ftn1

11. How large in length and width is the holy city in Revelation for the saints who will live with Jesus for 1000 years!

Beauty of the New Jerusalem. Its brilliance (Rev. 21:9–11). Heaven re flects the brilliant glory of God because of His presence. The glory of the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:11) denotes the Shekinah glory of God illuminating the city. Glory “refers to the shining radiance which comes from the presence and glory of God.”
Its walls and gates (Rev. 21:12–13). The high wall surrounding the city suggests security.
Its foundation stones (Rev. 21:14). The foundation stones, with the names of the apostles—who are the foundation of the church—suggest the church is also in the New Jerusalem.
Its measurement (Rev. 21:15–18). The New Jerusalem measures 1,500 miles long, wide, and high, possibly in the shape of a cone or pyramid, with God’s throne at the top.
Its adornment (Rev. 21:19–21). It is adorned with brilliant, costly stones, further reflecting the Shekinah glory of God.
Its availability (Rev. 21:22). No longer is there a mediatorial priesthood because every inhabitant has immediate access to God.
Its light (Rev. 21:23). The city is illumined by the Shekinah glory, requiring no celestial lights.
Its purpose (Rev. 21:24–26). The ultimate purpose of the eternal abiding place of believers is to bring glory to their Lord who has provided for their redemption.

1. Is Jesus God?
YES:
John 14:9-11
9Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.
2. Is there a Trinity?
YES:
Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
3. Is Satan to blame for the negativity in your life or you?
No:
Romans 3:23
23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
4. Is homosexuality okay or wrong?
Wrong (I had trouble finding a verse but I do have this):
Deuteronomy 23:17
17 No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute.
5. Who will enter into the Kingdom of God?
Matthew 7:21
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
6. Why are people sick with illnesses and disease?
Sometimes from God (the plagues) but some from Satan:
Luke 8
1After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
7. Why was the man Christ Jesus never sick or ill?
8. Are you suppose to repent daily or only once when you first are saved?
Only when you sin.
Isaiah 59:20
"The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the LORD.
9. Do you believe in once saved always saved?
No, people can turn away from God:
1Kings9:5-7
5 I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, 'You shall never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.'
6 "But if you [a] or your sons turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you [b] and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 7 then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. Israel will then become a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.
10. How many people will enter into God's gates?

Few will enter it:
Matthew 7:14
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
11. How large in length and width is the holy city in Revelation for the saints who will live with Jesus for 1000 years!
Revelation 21:16
The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.

Thank you and good luck!

1. Is Jesus God?
Yes - Acts 20:28. "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God is which He purchased with His own blood.
Verse states that God purchased the church with His own blood and Jesus is who bought us - so its pretty clear this saying Hes God.

Titus 2: 13. looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ

Isaiah 21:21. Tell and bring forth your case; yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, a just God and a Savior; there is none besides Me.

John 8: 58. Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.'' Jesus calls Himself I AM to the pharisees making it clear to them Hes calling Himself God to those who know the scriptures since Hes using the name given to moses for the name of God:

Exodus 3: 13. Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, `The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, `What is His name?' what shall I say to them?''
14. And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM.'' And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, `I AM has sent me to you.' ''
15. Moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: `The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'

Romans 9: 5. of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen.

Collosians 2:
8. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
9. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
10. and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Hebrews 1: 8. But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

2. Is there a Trinity?
Yes - Acts 5: 3. But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?
4. "While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.

He lied to the Spirit -and rightfully says He lied to God because the Spirit is God. see the above verses given already that show that Jesus is God along with this one.
1 John 5: 7. For there are three who bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

Jesus is the word: John 1
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. He was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

3. Is satan to blame for the negativity in your life or you?
We are. Romans 3: 10. As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;
11. there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God.
12. They have all gone out of the way; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.''

Clearly states we all sin. We can choose however not to fall into temptation: 1 Corinthians 10:13. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

4. Is homosexuality okay or wrong?
Wrong. romans 1: 26. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
27. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29. being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30. backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31. undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32. who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Jesus defines marriage as a man and a woman in Matthew chapter 19:4. And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning `made them male and female,'
5. "and said, `For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?
6. "So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.''

There is no need to define what marriage isnt - when its already been defined as what it is.

5. Who will enter into the Kingdom of God?
Those who have been born again/saved
John 3:3. Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.''
Romans 10: 9. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
6. Why are people sick with illnesses and disease?
Because of sin. Romans 5:2. Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
1 Corinthians 11: 29. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
31. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
32. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
7. Why was the man Christ Jesus never sick or ill?
Because He was without sin having been born of a virgin and never sinned. Hebrews 4: 14. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

8. Are you suppose to repent daily or only once when you first are saved?
That depends , is ones repentance just over something done and wanting to restore fellowship that sin has hindered or is one thinking that they need salvation all over again? I believe that we should apologise to God when we walk out of felowship however repentance that leads to salvation is a one time event :

Hebrews :Hebrews 6
1. Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2. of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3. And this we will do if God permits.
4. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5. and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6. if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
9. Do you believe in Once saved always saved?
Yes.
Romans 8
1. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
4. that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
10. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

10. How many people will enter into God's gates?
Countless Unknown numbers.
Revelation 5: 9. And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10. and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.''
11. Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands
11. How large in length and width is the holy city in Revelation for the saints who will live with Jesus for 1000 years!

Revelation 21:16. And the city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.
