  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not sure why you are telling me what I already understand.

Does the Paraclete in you tell you to keep or not to keep any of the 10 Commandments?

I don't try to keep any of the 10 Commandments. I give myself order to the Holy Spirit and live as it leads me to live.

God tells me to let him handle it. He has told me that I am called into faith. Now, it is up to me to show that I trust him to lead me to where he wants me to go.

Do you have faith enough to let go of trying to do things yourself and let God do it for you?

We are not communicating. Please focus.

Let proposition P1 = God tells Yardgog to keep the 1st Commandment.

True?
No. I keep the 1st commandment, now, because his Holy Spirit leads me to love our Father. But, I didn't understand that when I was younger. I thought that I loved God but I really had faith in myself. That led me to Job's experience and then I learned Faith's rightful place.

I am having trouble understanding your reply.

Let proposition P1 = God tells Yardgog to keep the 1st Commandment.

Is P1 true or false? This is the 2nd time I have asked. Please answer with one of the following:

1. true
2. false
3. don't know
4. don't understand.

God does not tell me to keep or not to keep the 1st Commandment.

What "I" do isn't what is important. What God does within me is always the key.

Do you know what the 1st Commandment is?
Yes

That is why I put God before myself. Many people believe it is their duty to obey the 10, but that is putting oneself before God. It is our place to surrender to God and let his Holy Spirit lead us.

Maybe I can try again. I don't think about the 10 Commandments because that is not "The Way" to salvation. That is why the early Church was called the Way. Jesus is the only Way that we can be saved.

Me saying that I don't try to keep any of the Commandments doesn't mean that I break any of them. I am not obedient because I focus on not sinning. I am obedient because I follow the Holy Spirit and that Spirit teaches me how to love so that I find it abhorrent to steal, or covet, or to not honor my parents, etc..
