I agree, the effects were terrible, especially the part with the train. Typical of made-for-tv movies. I can usually forgive that sort of thing if the story is good, but IMHO they failed there too. I don't know, the characters and the story just didn't suck me in. For some reason I am always compelled to watch these types of movies even though they usually disappoint... so I guess I will be tuning in again tonight... unless something better is on.

the rule of thumb is that you can expect any made for tv movie about any sort of natural disaster to be utterly terrible. i had a natural disasters class in college...and we watched this film about a dormant volcano in the mountains of california near a ski resort...I forget what it was called. but there were some downright hillarious moments to it. I taped the first part of 10.5...I'll probably watch it tonight, fast-forwarding through the bulk of it.
