  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree, the effects were terrible, especially the part with the train. Typical of made-for-tv movies. I can usually forgive that sort of thing if the story is good, but IMHO they failed there too. I don't know, the characters and the story just didn't suck me in. For some reason I am always compelled to watch these types of movies even though they usually disappoint... so I guess I will be tuning in again tonight... unless something better is on.

the rule of thumb is that you can expect any made for tv movie about any sort of natural disaster to be utterly terrible. i had a natural disasters class in college...and we watched this film about a dormant volcano in the mountains of california near a ski resort...I forget what it was called. but there were some downright hillarious moments to it. I taped the first part of 10.5...I'll probably watch it tonight, fast-forwarding through the bulk of it.
