1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils

Expressly – This is the only time that this word appears in the entire Bible. It is the Greek word “rhetos“. It means: explicitly, expressly, outspokenly. It adds emphasis to the entire verse and means that this is something that we are supposed to pay close attention to.

Giving Heed – Here the Greek word used is “prosecho“. It means: to give full attention or devotion to; to join one’s self to. This isn’t just a simple “listening” as it is often taught. It is much deeper than that.

Seducing – Here we have the Greek word “planos“. It means: to wander, mislead, deceive, an imposter, trying to get others to veer off of God’s course. An imposter is someone that deceives others by assuming a false identity

Doctrines – This is the Greek word “didaskalia“. It means: teaching or instruction.

Now what intrigued me about this verse and its greek definitions in the key word "seducing". Especially the meaning "to wander". Here is why. Why would the Holy Spirit call special attention to this verse and then use a word (planos) that can be translated as both deceive and planet? There are other words that could have been used. Is there a intentional connection between deceitful spirits and other planets and that is the reason this word is used in this verse? It makes me think about the Book of Enoch.

It is interesting to note just what these spirits seek to make those who follow them do.
They seek to make life more difficult, forbidding marriage, banning healthy foods, elswhere stressing rites or particular days were important.
Compare this to Paul who commends Godly traing and good doctrine as a way of being true to Jesus, but also as a way of avoiding being deceived.

Something we would all do well to follow.

"wander".. a term used by Enoch to describe the spirits of planets.
Are you saying that when the English translation of Enoch uses "wander" it is a translation of a Greek text using the word "planos"? I would need to see the reference and the Greek text. As far as I know, the Greek word "planos" does not carry the meaning "planet".

Never said it did, just said, using it also implied by very definition more to it through the definition of wander. They could have chosen any other word but the author didn't. It is like saying "alien" which is the term the US government uses for foreigners. Why couldn't the US government call "non-americans" "foreigners" rather than using the term "aliens"??

I did a search on planos and found a bit about it. The page won't let me copy and paste the commentary but the word is found once in Josephus and is translated as "deceitful" in this verse - "For deceitful people and rogues in a show of divine inspiration busying themselves with revolutionary matters and upheavals were persuading the mob to be possessed and leading them out into the desert so that God would there show them signs of freedom."
In the commentary it says that "the collocation of planos and ___ (another greek word which I don't know because it's in greek) though seemingly natural is found chiefly in Judean and early Christian literature."
Something for you to look up if you are interested.

I’m trying to dig deep in this scripture as I have a family
Member that truly believes it applies to her.
She believes she was seduced by false teaching( which maybe they were in demonic influence) she did this unknowingly, she believes she was strongly decideved and her faith and the Holy Spirit has be taken from her.
Insight?

This is a reference to the Falling Away (from Torah), and the Fading Away Crown of Pride (from the genuine oral covenant).

In influx of seducing spirits ad nauseum wears out the patience of the saints.
