In 1 Enoch according to Enoch the length of time the sun takes to go around the earth or earth around the sun (either convention is fine) aka the solar year is 360 days. He says the sun has 6 days ahead of the moon, and the lunar calendar year in 1 Enoch is 354 days. His language is weird but what he is saying is the sun is 6 days different than 354 days. Then he adds 4 days to get his perfect 364 day calendar. It can't be 348 days because adding 4 would not make 364 so it is 360 days. Chapters 72-82 is the astronomy section, and one chapter in particular has some of the math. I believe 1 Enoch was written pre flood by Enoch just like it claims, and is inspired scripture, and that the solar year changed at the flood to 365.24 days. Jesus called 1 Enoch scripture, and there is a lot more I could post on 1 Enoch but I think that is very important to realise about the solar year as all the studies, books, textbooks on the subject get it wrong.

1 Enoch

In those days, the earth will give back what has been
entrusted to it,
and Sheol will give back what has been entrusted to it,a
and destruction will restore what it owes.
5a For in those days, my Chosen One will arise
2 and choose the righteous and holy from among them,
for the day on which they will be saved has drawn near.
3 And the Chosen One, in those days, will sit upon my
throne,
and all the secrets of wisdom will go forth from the
counsel of his mouth,
for the Lord of Spirits has given (them) to him and
glorified him.

Revelation 20 11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

1 Enoch

In those days the mountains will leap like rams,
and the hills will skip like lambs satisfied with milk;
and the faces of all the angels in heaven will be radiant
with joy,
5b and the earth will rejoice,
and the righteous will dwell on it,
and the chosen will god upon it.

Psalm 114
1 When Israel came out of Egypt,
Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
2 Judah became God’s sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.

3 The sea looked and fled,
the Jordan turned back;
4 the mountains leaped like rams,
the hills like lambs.

Why was it, sea, that you fled?
Why, Jordan, did you turn back?
6 Why, mountains, did you leap like rams,
you hills, like lambs?

7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turned the rock into a pool,
the hard rock into springs of water.

“The meek shall inherit the earth” Matthew 5:5
1 Enoch 40:1

And after this I saw thousands of thousands
and ten thousand times ten thousand
—they were innumerable and incalculable—
who were standing in the presence of the glory of the Lord
of Spirits.

I looked, and on the four sides of the Lord of Spirits, I saw four
figures different from those who sleep not. And I learned their
names, because the angel who went with me and showed me
all the hidden things made their names known to me.
3 And I heard the voices of those four figures
uttering praise in the presence of the Lord of Glory.
4 The first voice blesses the Lord of Spirits forever and ever.
5 And the second voice I heard blessing the Chosen One
and the chosen ones who depend on the Lord of Spirits.
6 And the third voice I heard petitioning and praying for those
who dwell on the earth,
and interceding in the name of the Lord of Spirits.
7 And the fourth voice I heard driving away the satans,
and he did not let them come before the Lord of Spirits,
to accuse those who dwell on the earth.

Revelation 7

9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”

11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:

“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”

Revelation 5 11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, “Now have come salvation and strength, and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.

1 Enoch 41:1

And after this, I saw all the secrets of heaven,
how the kingdom is divided,
and how human deeds are weighed in the balance.
2 There I saw the dwelling places of the chosen
and the dwelling places of the holy ones.

"In my Father's house there are many mansions" Jesus in John 14:2

1 Enoch 20

The Great Glory sat upon it;
his apparel was like the appearance of the sun
and whiter than much snow.
21 No angel could enter into this house and look at his face
because of the splendor and glory,
and no human could look at him.
22 Flaming fire encircled him and a great fire stood by him,
and none of those about him approached him.
Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him,
but he needed no counselor; his every word was deed.

◄ Revelation 1:14 ►
The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.

◄ Exodus 33:20 ►
But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”

Hebrews 12:22 says, "But you are come to mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the company of innumerable angels.

Daniel 7 9 “As I looked,

“thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.
10 A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him;
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.
The court was seated,
and the books were opened.

Daniel 7 13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

And the horse shall walk up to the breast in the blood of sinners and the chariot shall be submerged to its height. (Enoch Book 5, Chapter 3:46)

They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia. (Rev. 14:20)

Jude cites 1 Enoch 1-9, and calls Enoch a prophet. 1 Enoch 1-9 mentions Mt Sinai. It is a prophecy fulfilled in Deuteronomy 33, and then Jude applies the prophecy also to what was future for Jude but past for us which was God using the Roman army to destroy Jerusalem, the temple, and kill the people that killed Jesus in 70 AD. Jesus said he was coming back then which is what Jude/ Enoch is talking about. Jerusalem first century is called MT Sinai metaphorically in Galatians. Jesus came back 70 AD, all the OT Israelites rose from the dead, the faithful ones got raptured, same with some of the first Christians the predestined elect remnant the lost sheep of the house of Israel all saved by belief in Jesus by 70 AD. The remnant was the 144 000 in Rev 7. Rev 1-12 happened 70 AD Rev 13-22 is future. The great tribulation was Christians fleeing Jerusalem before 70 AD called the flight to Pella. 1 Enoch 1-9 says it is for a remote generation far off (because it was thousands of years into the future for him), and people living in tribulation like Jesus said 70 AD would be a time of great tribulation greater than ever has been or will be in the future because his statement is in context of the waiting for the messiah age, and OT Israel age with the temple, animal sacrifices, physical circumcision, stoning to death, and other letter of the law of Moses rules which all finished with Jesus death, burial, resurrection, ascension to heaven, day of Pentecost, and 70 AD. The end in the NT means the end of the age of Moses, and the beginning of the saved by grace through faith age not the end of time or the book of revelation. Last days meant the same thing last days of the Mosaic covenant.

49 1

For wisdom has been poured out like water,
and glory will not fail in his presence forever and ever.
2 For he is mighty in all the secrets of righteousness;
and unrighteousness will vanish like a shadow,
and will have no place to stand.
For the Chosen One has taken his stand in the presence of
the Lord of Spirits;
and his glory is forever and ever,
and his might, to all generations.
3 And in him dwell the spirit of wisdom and the spirit of
insight,
and the spirit of instruction and might,
and the spirit of those who have fallen asleep in
righteousness.
4 And he will judge the things that are secret,
and a lying word none will be able to speak in his
presence;
For he is the Chosen One in the presence of the Lord of
Spirits
according to his good pleasure.

Jesus talking to the Sadducees who asked about resurrection.

Mathew 22 29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

God talking to the fallen angels pre flood in 1 Enoch

1 Enoch 15 But you originally existed as spirits, living forever,
and not dying for all the generations of eternity;
7 therefore I did not make women among you.’
The spirits of heaven, in heaven is their dwelling;

Jesus tells the people he is talking to they do not know scripture and then proceeds to cite something from 1 Enoch so he is calling 1 Enoch "scripture".

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

There is nowhere in the protestant OT or Deuterocanon that says angels in heaven don't get married only 1 Enoch.
Also there is the book of enoch study group on facebook with about 400k members and there are multiple other Enoch groups on there with 10K + members. everyone is interested in 1 Enoch

Here is a study by a historian of science https://gymarkiv.sdu.dk/MFM/kdvs/mfm 40-49/MFM 40-10.pdf

Look at his comments on trying to understand Enochs language / maths about the sun. Note Enochs language is confusing. Then below his comments are my explanation

The 'Astronomical' Chapters of
the Ethiopic Book of Enoch (72 to 82)
TRANSLATION AND COMMENTARY
by OTTO NEUGEBAUER

9. Thus I saw their positions when the months begin at sunset. — It seems
pointless to attempt to give an accurate translation of the confused nonsense
which some scribes produced from some trivial arithmetical relations (for which
cf. the notes on p. 19). Readers who wish to see some rendering of these scrambled
verses may look up Charles Enoch pp. 149-161 or Knibb Enoch pp. 173-4.

10. We are dealing with five ("solar") years of 364 days each.

He is commenting on this section here in Chapter 74

9. Thus I saw their position—how the moons rose and the sun set in those days. 10. And if five years are added together the sun has an overplus of thirty days, and all the days which accrue to it for one of those five years, when they are full, amount to 364 days.
11. And the overplus of the sun and of the stars amounts to six days: in 5 years 6 days every year come to 30 days: and the moon falls behind the sun and stars to the number of 30 days.

Enoch is saying the suns year is 6 days more than the moons full calendar year. When they are full means when he adds his 4 extra days to the solar year.

12. And the sun and the stars bring in all the years exactly, so that they do not advance or delay their position by a single day unto eternity; but complete the years with perfect justice in 364 days.

He means once his 4 extra days have been added it equals 364. Without them it is 360 for the sun, and the stars. He seems to be talking from a geocentric POV although it might go either way.

13. In 3 years there are 1,092 days, and in 5 years 1,820 days, so that in 8 years there are 2,912 days.
That all divides out to 364. He is talking about his calendar there.

14. For the moon alone the days amount in 3 years to 1,062 days, and in 5 years she falls 50 days behind: [i.e. to the sum (of 1,770) there is to be added (1,000 and) 62 days.] 15. And in 5 years there are 1,770 days, so that for the moon the days in 8 years amount to 2,832 days.

1062/5 = 354. The moon falls behind his calendar 10 days a year so after 5 years it is 50 days behind.
1770+1062=2832/ 8 = 354 days a year for the moon. He mentions the 8 at the end of the next sentence. 1770/5 = 354
354 days a year for the moon.

354 days a year for the moon.

16. [For in 8 years she falls behind to the amount of 80 days], all the days she falls behind in 8 years are 80.

Emphasizing the lunar year is 10 days a year behind his 364 day calendar.

17. And the year is accurately completed in conformity with their world-stations and the stations of the sun, which rise from the portals through which it (the sun) rises and sets 30 days.

12 times 30 = 360 for the solar year

4 Blessed are all the righteous, blessed are all those who walk in the way of righteousness, and do not sin like the sinners in the numbering of all their days in which the sun journeys in heaven, coming in and out through the gates for thirty days with the heads over thousands of this order of stars, and with the four which are added and divide between the four parts of the year, which lead them and appear with them on four days. 5 Because of them men go wrong, and they do not reckon them in the reckoning of the whole course of the world for men go wrong in respect of them, and do not know them exactly

He is saying people at his time pre flood based their calendars on the solar year which was 360 days at his time, and he thought that was sinful, and they neglected to add in his extra 4 days to make the 364 day calendar.

His definition of portal are locations of the sun moon and stars at certain times of their movements. He does not mean physical portals like a round physical ring they travel through. According to Enoch angels on chariots powered by wind drives the sun moon, and stars. The portals could be invisible spiritual round rings he sees them pass through or just mental coordinates he sees.

He describes the monthly moon synodic cycle of new moon then 14-15 days later full moon then 14-15 days of declining light until the cycle finishes. That is the same as today. His lunar calendar has months with 30 or 29 days to average out to 29.5 day months times 12 is 354 days a year which is the same as today.

His solar year is contradictory. In some verses it is 360 days in others it is 364 days. In some verses the moon lags the solar year number by 6 days in others by 10.

1 Enoch divides the days into 18 parts. Assuming 24 hour day night cycles like today it means each 1/18th is 80 minutes. The most extreme variation in day night cycles he mentions is 6/12, and 12/6 (solstice, and equinox) which works out to 8 hours day 16 hours night, and vice versa. This is 50 degree north or south of the equator not near Jerusalem. 50 degrees south is ocean for the most part so presumably it is 50 north. The earths geology, and geography changed at the flood though so hard to know exactly what it looked like pre flood.

Enochs 12 month solar cycle. 12 months 8 with 30 days 4 with 31 says. 30, 30, 31 pattern repeated 4 times. The 2 solstices, and 2 equinoxes always fall on the 31st.

30th
. When the sun rises in the heaven, he comes forth through that fourth portal thirty mornings in succession, and sets accurately in the fourth portal in the west of the heaven. 9. And during this period the day becomes daily longer and the night nightly shorter to the thirtieth morning. 10. On that day the day is longer than the night by a ninth part, and the day amounts exactly to ten parts and the night to eight parts. 11.

24 times 60 =1440 minutes in our 24 hour day / 18 = 80 minutes in each hour of Enochs 18 hour days assuming the days were 24 hours like today.
Day 10 parts (800 Enoch minutes/ 60 our minutes =13.33 our hours) , night 8 parts (640 minutes/60 =10.66 hours) .

30th
And the sun rises from that fourth portal, and sets in the fourth and returns to the fifth portal of the east thirty mornings, and rises from it and sets in the fifth portal. 12. And then the day becomes longer by †two† parts and amounts to eleven parts, and the night becomes shorter and amounts to seven parts. 13.

Day 11 parts (14.6 hours), night 7 parts (9.33 hours).

31st
And it returns to the east and enters into the sixth portal, and rises and sets in the sixth portal one-and-thirty mornings on account of its sign. 14. On that day the day becomes longer than the night, and the day becomes double the night, and the day becomes twelve parts, and the night is shortened and becomes six parts. 15.

day 12 (16 hours), night 6 (8 hours). This is the most extreme day night variation in Enochs 12 month solar list so is a solstice at 50 degrees north of equator. I assume this is where he is writing from pre flood note it is nowhere near Jerusalem. Jerusalem is 31 degrees north for reference " At this latitude (31 north Jerusalem) the sun is visible for 14 hours, 10 minutes during the summer solstice and 10 hours, 8 minutes during the winter solstice"

30th
And the sun mounts up to make the day shorter and the night longer, and the sun returns to the east and enters into the sixth portal, and rises from it and sets thirty mornings. 16. And when thirty mornings are accomplished, the day decreases by exactly one part, and becomes eleven parts, and the night seven. 17.

day 11 parts (14.6 hours), night 7 (9.33 hours)

30th
And the sun goes forth from that sixth portal in the west, and goes to the east and rises in the fifth portal for thirty mornings, and sets in the west again in the fifth western portal. 18. On that day the day decreases by †two† parts, and amounts to ten parts and the night to eight parts. 19.

day 10 parts (13.33 hours), night 8 parts (10.66 hours).

31st
And the sun goes forth from that fifth portal and sets in the fifth portal of the west, and rises in the fourth portal for one-and-thirty mornings on account of its sign, and sets in the west. 20. On that day the day is equalized with the night, [and becomes of equal length], and the night amounts to nine parts and the day to nine parts.

Day 9 (12 hours) night 9 (12 hours) equinox.

30th
21. And the sun rises from that portal and sets in the west, and returns to the east and rises thirty mornings in the third portal and sets in the west in the third portal. 22. And on that day the night becomes longer than the day, and night becomes longer than night, and day shorter than day till the thirtieth morning, and the night amounts exactly to ten parts and the day to eight parts.

day 8 night 10 (13.33 hours)

30th
23. And the sun rises from that third portal and sets in the third portal in the west and returns to the east, and for thirty mornings rises in the second portal in the east, and in like manner sets in the second portal in the west of the heaven. 24. And on that day the night amounts to eleven parts and the day to seven parts.

day 7 parts (9.33 hours), night 11 (14.66 hours)

31st
25. And the sun rises on that day from that second portal and sets in the west in the second portal, and returns to the east into the first portal for one-and-thirty mornings, and sets in the first portal in the west of the heaven. 26. And on that day the night becomes longer and amounts to the double of the day: and the night amounts exactly to twelve parts and the day to six.

night 12 (16 hours) day 6 (8 hours) .solstice.

30th
27. And the sun has (therewith) traversed the divisions of his orbit and turns again on those divisions of his orbit, and enters that portal thirty mornings and sets also in the west opposite to it. 28. And on that night has the night decreased in length by a †ninth† part, and the night has become eleven parts and the day seven parts.

day 7 (9.33 hours), night 11 (14.66 hours)

30th
29. And the sun has returned and entered into the second portal in the east, and returns on those his divisions of his orbit for thirty mornings, rising and setting. 30. And on that day the night decreases in length, and the night amounts to ten parts and the day to eight.

day 8 (10.66 hours), night ten (13.33 hours)

31st
31. And on that day the sun rises from that portal, and sets in the west, and returns to the east, and rises in the third portal for one-and-thirty mornings, and sets in the west of the heaven. 32. On that day the night decreases and amounts to nine parts, and the day to nine parts, and the night is equal to the day and the year is exactly as to its days three hundred and sixty-four.

day 9 (12 hours) night 9 (12 hours). equinox

33. And the length of the day and of the night, and the shortness of the day and of the night arise--through the course of the sun these distinctions are made (lit. ‘they are separated’). 34. So it comes that its course becomes daily longer, and its course nightly shorter. 35. And this is the law and the course of the sun, and his return as often as he returns sixty times and rises, i.e. the great luminary which is named the sun, for ever and ever. 36. And that which (thus) rises is the great luminary, and is so named according to its appearance, according as the Lord commanded. 37. As he rises, so he sets and decreases not, and rests not, but runs day and night, and his light

In these verses the solar year is 364 days.

Where does Jesus call 1 Enoch scripture? It isn't included as part of Scripture, even in those versions of the bible that include the Apocrypha.

Mathew 22 29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

God talking to the fallen angels pre flood in 1 Enoch

1 Enoch 15 But you originally existed as spirits, living forever,
and not dying for all the generations of eternity;
7 therefore I did not make women among you.’
The spirits of heaven, in heaven is their dwelling;

Yet Yahweh, The Almighty, Who Created all Life, Does Not Say So.
Yes Jesus said so. If someone denies 1 Enoch is scripture they are ignorant of scripture (1 Enoch) just like the Sadducees.

As written, it seems clear, you know neither Scripture nor the power of Yahweh.
Yes, and he cites 1 Enoch as his definition of scripture. So Jesus believed 1 Enoch was written by Enoch 7th from Adam pre flood.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AcademicBiblical/comments/oqn7zy information about the transmission of 1 Enoch text

George Nickelsburg writes: "The corpus that we know as 1 Enoch (chaps. 1-108) is extant in its entirety only in an Ethiopic (Ge'ez) version that was translated from a Greek translation of the Aramaic original between the fourth and sixth centuries. The translation was part of the larger project of translating the Old and New Testaments....In this commentary I have postulated an Aramaic → Greek → Ethiopic chain of transmission, partly because of the close correspondence in word order between the Greek and Ethiopic and also because of readings in the Ethiopic that must have derived from a corrupt Greek text. In at least one case it appears that a Greek scribe had access to either an Aramaic text or another Greek text that had access to the Aramaic" (Hermeneia commentary, Vol. 1, pp. 15-16).

Here are some examples of translation errors that make it clear that there was a Greek original. In 1 Enoch 22:2-3, the dead spirits are brought into subterreanean caves (פחתיא) in the original Aramaic (4Q206), and the Greek translates this word as κοιλοί "hollows". The Ethiopic text instead has šanāyāt "beautiful (places)" here, which reflects a misreading of κοιλοί as καλοί. Another example can be found in the Animal Apocalypse in 1 Enoch 90:38 in which the Messiah is transformed into a nagar "word" in the Ethiopic. This is an obvious corruption since a type of animal would be expected here. Although the text here is not extant in Aramaic or Ethiopic, it is best explained as a corruption from the Aramaic ראמא "aurochs" (cf. Deuteronomy 33:17) which was transliterated into Greek and misinterpreted by the Ge'ez translator as the Greek word ῥῆμα "utterance, word".

Yahweh put the Scripture together perfectly as He Desires.
Nothing to be added , lest plagues be added to the one doing so,
Nothing to be taken out, lest the part of life be removed from the one doing so.
Yahweh is Perfectly Able and Trustworthy and Reliable, to do this.
Woe to those who are found opposing Him.

But Jesus didn't say that 1 Enoch is Scripture. Just because His words about there being no marriage in heaven are similar to what 1 Enoch, that doesn't mean He was saying that 1 Enoch is a Scriptural book. You say "There is nowhere in the protestant OT or Deuterocanon that says angels in heaven don't get married only 1 Enoch." However, why should we even think that angels do get married? Nowhere in the 66 books of the bible do we read of angels being married. Indeed, we are told:

“Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.” (Ps 104:4 NKJV)

Angels are spiritual beings.

Well using a dictionary, and a grammar book to interpret words yes Jesus called 1 Enoch scripture so I believe it is but it conflicts with your definition of scripture which is not based on Jesus/the bible. Proverbs 1 22. Good luck. You will need luck if you reject knowledge.
Sorry, how is my definition of Scripture not based on Jesus/the bible? I didn't think I even had defined Scripture (unless you are referring to my mention of 66 books).

I have consulted 8 commentaries on the Matthew verses, and not one of them even mentions Enoch. I am sure I am far from being alone here on this forum in saying that Jesus is not quoting 1 Enoch or endorsing it.

your definition of scripture according to you is based on 8 commentaries none of which claim to be inspired scripture, and you reject Jesus definition of 1 Enoch being scripture. Yes Jesus quotes 1 Enoch lol you just don't believe him which is sin.
No, I think you misread my post. I did not define scripture by my reference to 8 commentaries. I was just saying that none of the commentaries on Matthew even mention 1 Enoch in reference to the words of Jesus about marriage in heaven.

Yeh i don't think i ever learned a thing from reading commentaries. reading the bible increases faith or audiobook. also studying Genesis and creationism helps increase faith well it did for me.
