Faith is very personal. Belief, by definition, is whatever an individual chooses to believe. The book “In Search of Jesus of Nazareth and His Original Teaching” chronicles the research and analysis leading to the formulation of my personal understanding of the Historical Jesus and his Teaching.

This book discusses the two completely different accounts of the creation of “Jesus the Christ”, contained in the four canonical Gospels of the “New Testament”. Mark, the earliest Gospel, in its original form, asserts that a human Jesus received the Devine Spirit at his Baptism by John (his cousin the Baptizer). The later Gospel authors added/reiterated the description of Mary’s “Virgin Conception” to create a Devine Jesus “Son of God” at birth and the “Resurrection” to return that Devine being to the Father. It is interesting to note, that the later Gospel writers chose to retain Mark’s Baptism event, even though it would seem to be unnecessary, if Jesus had a spotless soul and already possessed the Divine Spirit from birth. With Mark’s version, Resurrection is not required, since it allows for the Devine Spirit to return to God at Jesus’ death and his human remains to be interred in a tomb.

Organized Religion, according to sociologist G. Lenski , is "a shared system of associated beliefs and practices, which are articulated around the nature of the forces that shape the destiny of human beings." Any religion that promotes peace, harmony, charity, morality, ethical behavior, compassion, and the betterment of humanity is to be condoned and supported. However, religions/sects that preach violence and prejudice or practice discrimination must be condemned/reformed. Ideally, through education and enlightenment rather than by armed conflict.

The question is whether what one has chosen to believe is true?

. Lenski , is "a shared system of associated beliefs and practices, which are articulated around the nature of the forces that shape the destiny of human beings."

Shows that for him religion is made by people and that there is no supernatural.

An interesting question would be, where does his ideas about what is good in religion and what is bad.
I suspect he is influenced by Christianity.

There is really only one way to know if its true, the convincing witness of the Holy Spirit to one's spirit.

That is total nonsence.

Christianity is based on historical facts, facts that even atheist professors of history recognise and accept.
While on a personal level faith and the witness of the Spirit is acceptable, try witnessing on the street and you will quickly learn it is not accepted.

May I suggest you read Lee strobel the Case for Christ, start following coldcasechristianity and listen to lectures on line by Dr Greg Habermas and William lane Craig.
To learn some of the indisputable facts about Christianity.

I hear you. . .but facts do not make faith.
How can I know for an empirical fact Jesus' claims are true, for starters that:

he came down from heaven (Jn 3:13, 6:38, 42, 62)
and was sent by God (Jn 5:36-40, 10:36, 13:3, 16:28)
to die as a ransom for the sins of many (Mt 20:28, 26:28; Jn 10:11),
with power to forgive sin (Mt 9:2-6), which only God can do,
to conquer Satan (Jn 12:31; Lk 10:18; Mk 1:23-26, 5:6-13),
to speak for God (Jn 7:16, 8:25-28, 12:44-45, 49-50, 14:10; Lk 9:35, 10:16)
,
and to judge all mankind (Jn 5:22, 27, 8:26, 12:48; Mt 25:31-33),
as the exclusive way to God (Jn 14:6; Ac 4:12),
the source of all truth and life (Jn 1:4, 5:25-26, 6:39-40),
the decisive factor in the eternal destiny of everyone (Jn 3:18-19, 36, 5:24, 6:40, 8:24-25), and

possessing all authority (power) in heaven and earth (Mt 26:64, 28:18; Lk 10:22; Jn 13:3, 13)?

I've always favored the NT model of witnessing: "street witnessing" should be to crowds, where those in whom the Holy Spirit is operating will receive the gospel, and individual witnessing should look for some indication of the Holy Spirit's operation in the person before witnessing, for until the Holy Spirit opens their ears, they have ears that do not hear.
