The city of Denver has smoked out Omicron. Denver Mayor Michael Hancock made the decision not to extend the city’s mandate, which required proof of vaccination and masks to enter businesses. The mandate is set to expire at week’s end.

Congrats, Denver, you can once again live the high life!

U.S. is down to about 2,300 deaths a day from COVID-19. Better, but not down to 2021 levels for the same period. New infections are down. Still way above 2021 Feb. levels, but dropping quickly. Should get better as it warms up.

We can hope.

Point is, whatever Colorado was doing, apparently worked better than most other states. Infections and deaths are way down in that state.

The governor's advisors seem to think down enough, given vaccination rates, that it's going to be O.K. to open up.

That would be good news. We'll know in the next few weeks.
