COMMENTARY: These are not just stories from a long time ago. Jesus wants us to make them our own. He wants to relive the love story of his passion in us.

One of my favorite places to visit in the Holy Land is a small patch of olive trees on one of the main hills overlooking Jerusalem.

These large trees stand on a sacred site traditionally believed to be the Garden of Gethsemane — the place where Jesus came to pray the night before he died. The olive trees there are about 900 years old, but what is most fascinating is how their root systems may go back all the way to the time of Jesus.
