  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Your Word

On December 27, 2011, throughout my day the Lord encouraged me much through his word and through songs. One of the passages of Scripture that he led me to read was Psalms 119. Over the years since receiving my Bible as a gift from my children, I have underlined and even dated many sections of...

    Traffic Jam

Stopped up traffic, where to go? Where’s the answers? Do you know? Pitter-patter, quick and light, Truth has taken a big flight. Easy road takes you around, Where the truth not to be found. Flitter-flatter, do their tricks, Play their games and pick up sticks. All’s a game, they do the same...

    Nonsense, Nonsense

Nonsense, nonsense coming from their mouths, Raise their banners, raise them very loud, Bold in witness, that but not of God, Please the world and draw in their large crowds. “Win the world to us, but not to God, Please the crowds and make sure music’s loud, Tell some jokes, and have a new...

    The Battle for Truth

God loves us so much, he sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die on a cross for our sins so that we could be free from eternal punishment in hell; free from slavery to sin day-to-day; and free to walk in daily fellowship with him, listening to him, and doing what he teaches us (see John...

    Invalidating God's word

At Mark 7:7, 8, we read, "in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men." In your experience, do you find many who identify as Christian, making their own commands and invalidating the commands in...

    Open My Heart

This song begins with a prayer from someone who is asking God to open his or her heart to receive God’s truth and to make him or her a servant, pure within. This individual has been drawn to Jesus by the Father, and has responded to that call. He or she desires to please God, to give him praise...

Five Passages - Bible analysis on Truth

Hello folks. Sometimes the truth hurts. Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 4:29, and three different passages from Proverbs tell us that receiving truth may sting, or even hurt for a while, but will better ourselves in the Christian journey. This is a companion analysis, about lies: Ephesians 4:25 &...

    In Truth

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24 ESV). “And by this we know that we have...

    Bad Company Ruins Good Morals

“What do I gain if, humanly speaking, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, ‘Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.’ Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals.’ Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge...

Love Others in Deed and in Truth

“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk...

    Teaching a Different Doctrine

“If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce...

The Abundant Love I Have for You

“For I made up my mind not to make another painful visit to you. For if I cause you pain, who is there to make me glad but the one whom I have pained? And I wrote as I did, so that when I came I might not suffer pain from those who should have made me rejoice, for I felt sure of all of you, that...

The Book of Revelation (eis tous aiōnas tōn aiōnōn) contra Universalism

Universalists I have come across commonly state that the lake of fire is not a place of eternal duration but of temporal duration. It may last an age and then those in it will get out as they have come to faith in Christ because the fire is not a punishment but a correction. John uses “forever...

    Whatever is True

    They Suppress the Truth

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and...
