  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What effect does the rate of technological change have on our institutions?

I'm 53 now, and I definitely feel like I'm living in a world that is moving very fast. The rapidity of change is so fast, it is hard to envision what the future holds or how to integrate change. This has become an interesting theme for me to ponder. Religious ideas have been maintained...

Tradition over the Bible when they conflict? Preference over the Bible when in conflict?

Great discussion thread (featured and popular) on the need to trust the Bible ... here Friday at 10:31 PM #1 There we looked at these examples to see where the Bible is to be accepted as it reads or is symbolism -- 1. Virgin birth - true or fiction? (mythology?) 2. Bodily resurrection of...

Tradition Versus Worship in Spirit and Truth

Tradition Versus Worship in Spirit and Truth Mark 7:6-23 - John 4:23, 24 There are two things to consider, when we read these passages. The first thing is that God looks at the heart of man. The second is, that man sees only the outside ceremonies, and traditional religious duties, but does...

    Is it Really for Him?

Sunday, April 9, 2017, 9:20 p.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “Oh, To Be Like Thee.” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read Zechariah 7 (NASB). Or, For Ourselves? (vv. 1-7) In the fourth year of King Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth...

Christians, what do you think about the adoption of modern secular "values" by most churches?

Even the most conservative, traditional expressions of Christianity like Russian Orthodoxy or the Catholic Latin mass and self proclaimed restorationist evangelicals do this. What I'm talking about is things like: - The mixing of men and women in church - Lack of modesty amongst women (hair...

    Overcoming Prejudice

Friday, November 25, 2016, 8:00 a.m. – The Lord Jesus put in mind the song “Near the Cross.” Speak, Lord, your words to my heart. I read Acts 10 (Select vv. NIV). Surely Not! (Summary vv. 1-33) Cornelius and his family were devout and God-fearing, but they were Gentiles, with whom Jews did not...

Accept Christ's Word in Mark 7:6-13 - or reject it??

Notice what Jesus said about the obligation of others - when it comes to the "Commandment of God" -- the "Word of God" and "Moses said" -- in Mark 7:6-13 Mark 7 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the Commandment of God, ye...
