  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Remain Steadfast in Your Trials

“As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.”...

    Should I Not Preach Jesus

Jesus said that we are to go into all of the world and to make disciples of him of all nations, baptizing and teaching them to obey all that he has commanded us (See Matthew 28:18-20). He said that when the Spirit of God comes upon us, whom we receive when we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and...

Returning to Where You Were Persecuted

“Now at Iconium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the...

I Was Sent for This Purpose

On the 13th of December the Lord led me to share a writing he had given me to write titled, “Enlarge the Place of Your Tent.” The Lord spoke to me through the Scripture passage in Isaiah 54:2-3 about expanding the ministry he had given to me, which is to share what he is teaching me from his...

Taking the Gospel to the World

We read in the Scriptures that we, as followers of Jesus Christ, are the salt of the earth and the light of the world in preserving the word of God and in sharing the truth of the gospel of our salvation with the people of the world. We, as disciples of the Lord Jesus, are to go and to make...

    In the Great Congregation

“I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you: You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of...

    Faithful to Our Callings

“Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church to come to him. And when they came to him, he said to them: “’You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia, serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with...

    No Less

March 19, 2012 I was talking to the Lord about stuff going on in my life. I had just written out my devotions from the book of Amos, chapters 1-2. I was thinking about how Amos was just a shepherd when God called him to be a prophet and to give out his messages. I thought about all the...

    How Beautiful

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring...

    Come and See

The Lord Jesus led me to read John 1:35-51 (multiple versions). What I see at work here is that God revealed Jesus to John, John then revealed Jesus to his disciples, and two of them followed him. One of the two immediately told his brother, who he then brought to Jesus. Jesus found Philip and...

    Fear Them Not!

“And he said to me, ‘Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with my words to them. For you are not sent to a people of foreign speech and a hard language, but to the house of Israel— not to many peoples of foreign speech and a hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, if...

“One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him...

    Advancing the Gospel of Christ

“I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my...

    Making Disciples of Christ

Matthew 28:16-20 ESV “Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make...

Video Talk Acts 18:5-11 ESV “When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus. And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, ‘Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent...

    Being a Godly Example

Video Talk Paul, along with Silvanus (Silas) and Timothy, wrote this letter to the believers in Jesus Christ in Thessalonica.
