  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

  1. The Liturgist

A disappointing Christological homily at Guildford Cathedral, and the importance of stressing the deity of Christ

I particularly like Guildford Cathedral for their music program, and was excited last week to hear a Christological sermon by the celebrant. However, on hearing it, I was disappointed, because rather than stressing the deity of Christ, she managed to inadvertently imply Arianism, through two...
  2. The Liturgist

Excellent Homily on Christian Persecution at Evensong for All Saints Day

This excellent homily during Choral Evensong at St. Bartholomew the Great in London for All Saints Day on Christian martyrdom around the world was a great eye opener, and the service was also particularly beautiful:

    Any good expository online sermons?

Can anyone recommend some online sermons that are expository and focus on the Bible and: 1. Don't show any political bias 2. Don't duck difficulties in a passage 3. Sermons based on passages not single verses 4. Sermons that focus on explaining the Bible in context rather than the speaker...

    Sermon Review Thread

@Paidiske and several other members have encouraged a thread in which those of us tasked with preaching can post for evaluation our sermons before we preach them, and also those we have just preached. Since I waited until it was Sunday morning in most of the world before getting around to...

    The Anglican Drone

I'd like to ask a couple of possibly trivial and probably impertinent questions about Anglican priestly rhetoric. In my defence, baptismally speaking, I’m technically-an-Anglican …if it hadn’t been for the God thing…. I also have a legit interest in English speech via a smattering of...

Just started a Christian YouTube Channel

Hello, brothers and sisters in Christ! My name is Waldy, and I have recently started a Christian channel, speaking on Biblical topics and theological issues. I feel like the world we live in is speaking a wrong message, and my goal for this channel is to make the truth known to the world! That...

    Reflections On Classic Sermons

This blog (also www.thenarrowpath.life) is dedicated to reviewing sermons from (at least in my estimation) classic preachers to bring them to a fresh audience and discuss how they might be applicable to the issues that we are going through today. *Source image credit to Brett Sayles (Silhouette...

Church Problems " Too much Yelling " etc

Hello all, I don't go to church at the moment and I wanted to share my reasons why. Maybe someone out there has some helpful feedback that they can give me on their perspective on things. 1. I often find Pastors yelling at the top of the voices trying to tell me a message. I dislike being...

In Persona Christi- Not Just About the Eucharist

In Catholicism, there is the concept that the priest stands in the place of Christ the High Priest on the altar and unites those gathered to the sacrifice on Mount Calvary, to the Last Supper, and to the Eucharists (Thanksgivings) celebrated by Christians throughout time and space forward and...

    Pope Francis' Homily: "Shrunken Souls"

This article from the official Vatican website contains an account in English, with many quotes, of Pope Francis' homily from daily mass on January 27th of this year (So, last week): Shrunken souls (27 January 2017) | Francis I liked it. We could use a greater emphasis on grace and love in...
