  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Howdy! Do you have a list of relics and their location? I tried looking for any here in Ecuador but it seems they are Roman Catholic.

Apostolic Traditions or small 't' traditions?

Do the Eastern Orthodox have to believe that all the relics purported to be from the saints and the apostles truly came from them? Do they have to believe that the icon purported to be from St. Luke was indeed painted by St. Luke?

Today, June 22 (Baounah 15): the return of the relics of St. Mark the Apostle to the Egyptian Church

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the one God. Today is a great day in modern Coptic Orthodox history, and since it directly involves also the Roman Catholic Church, I figured I should share it with you guys here on OBOB. From the synaxarium of the Coptic Orthodox...

Could the Philosophical & Interpretive Approach of Reformed Protestantism lead out of Christianity?

    (1) Does "Reformed" Protestantism (Calvinism, Presbyterianism, Evangelicalism, etc.) have a solid, clear, direct basis in 1st to 3rd century Christian traditions and writings to claim that the Communion food is in itself "only" a symbol* and to reject Jesus' "real" presence in the elements...
