  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    No Longer Living for Ourselves

“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. “From now on, therefore, we regard no one...

    We are a New Creation

“And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” (2 Corinthians 5:15 ESV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who...

    The Message of Reconciliation

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting...

What does it mean to you to have your "identity" in Christ?

I've struggled with this concept ever since being saved and learning about The Holy Trinity beyond my childhood religious upbringing and understanding. I'm starting to think that "dying to the flesh", does not just mean the sins that contaminate our lives, nor does it just mean avoiding...

St Maximus the Confessor and Music

St Maximus the Confessor is beloved to me, and he was absolutely instrumental in the formalisation of Christian doctrine. If you decide to investigate further, be aware that he has absorbed the influence of Neoplatonism, and he must be read with care and a critical mindset. Musical composition...

    Eternal (temporary) Life???

To discuss the loss of salvation we must first establish the 'fact' of salvation in one's life. Many will say to Christ "Lord, Lord," but they will go away into eternal destruction, not having had that life altering relationship with Christ that is so necessary (Matthew 7:22-23). Many will make...

    Aim to Please Him

2 Corinthians 5:1-5 ESV For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked...
