  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Kickboxing and whether or not I can participate

Copy-pasted from the Christian Advice forum because my OCD might be factoring into this. I've been wanting to learn a martial art for some time. I tried a kickboxing class many months ago, but it was too expensive to keep up. And now, after going through COVID and cutting off contact with my...

Kickboxing and whether a Christian can participate

Hey all, I've been wanting to learn a martial art for some time. I tried a kickboxing class many months ago, but it was too expensive to keep up. And now, after going through COVID and cutting off contact with my friends (due to unhealthy relationships), I'm alone and don't do much outside my...

    Yoga, Qi Gong, Martial Arts?

I wanted to ask has anyone here done or do yoga, Qi Gong and/or Martial Arts? If so do you have any resources for learning more about it and your own experiences? I'm not sure how these fit into the Christian Faith and what Christianity thinks of yoga, qi gong or martial arts though.

The Martial Artist and the Prostitute

It was a late evening when some friends of the Ip Man invited him to a restaurant at Fa On Chai (Eagle Beak Sands, Foshan). They were drinking but they were also talking about different interesting abilities of different people, when one of the friends of the Ip Man started talking about a...

Bruce Lee’s First steps in his career

Bruce Lee had begun his acting career when he was too little, it was at the age of three months, before his parents left San Francisco, in a film called Golden Gate Girl. He played the role of a female baby, carried by his father more as a stage prop than anything else. Although Bruce never took...

Is it a sin for a Christian to be involved in MMA?

(Mixed Martial Arts). Is it a sin? Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:26 said "I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:" and used a fighting sport (boxing, in this case) as a metaphor for a Christian's race. This seemingly condones boxing as an OK thing in my...

    Non-duality (Orthodox/Roman)

[Caution: Much of what will be discussed is unorthodox to Protestantism, Anglican, Lutheran and Calvinism. I'm not interested in debate just interested in tossing some ideas out there for discussion with my Protestant/Calvinistic brothers and sisters.] Ok, here goes, I took a break from my...
