  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    My Thoughts

To the child of God, every tear is seen and gathered by the Lord, bearing a purpose both holy and tender in His sight. Yet to those who are not His own, tears are but fleeting shadows of pain, void of hope, unless lifted to Him in humble surrender.

    Down in the Dumps

Do you ever get down in the dumps? You’ve certainly taken your lumps. Discouragement’s settling in. You wonder if you’ll ever win. Time seems to not be your best friend. You wonder if this will e’er end. Will you ever see the light of day? You cry, and you hope, and you pray. But, time then...

    Hope, Patience, and Prayer

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” (Romans 12:12 ESV) Hope Now I am not going to look up a bunch of words today, so I am going to just share my understanding here on this word “hope,” for this is me having my quiet time with the Lord and letting him speak to...

The Plans of God for Us

The following was a specific promise given by God to a specific people at a particular time in history under very distinct circumstances which are not relevant to us today. The people of God were under the judgment of God for a period of 70 years. So, the Lord was giving them specific...

    Abusers and The Abused

Psalms 62:3-4 ESV “How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah” This passage...

Those Who Hope in His Unfailing Love

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth— he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.” (Psalms...

    You Loved Me

This song was a collaboration between Tosin Iyawo Ogaga and myself back in December of 2019. We did another one in May of that same year called, "It’s All You." I thoroughly enjoyed these collaborations with Tosin. She and I shared the vocals on this second song that we did together. You Loved...

    Why are You Cast Down?

“As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, ‘Where is your God?’ These things I...

    Do Not Fear

I was reading in John 14. Jesus told his disciples that he was going to leave them and that they could not go with him now, but they would follow later. He told them not to be afraid, though, because he was going to prepare a place for them in his Father’s house, and that one day he would come...

    Why So Downcast?

This song is based off Psalm 42:1-11. The psalmist was downcast due to some trying and difficult times in his life. He may have been in exile. He was suffering greatly. The storms and the tempests of his life were sweeping over him like a flood. He felt forgotten by God. He questioned why he...

    When One Turns to Christ

“Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains...

    Utterly Burdened Beyond our Strength

“For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God...

    I Will Not Cave

What’s weighing on my heart tonight? So many things that just aren’t right. A list of them, I have not made. But into them, I will not cave. I give them all to Christ alone Who for my sins He did atone. How beautiful the love of Him Who cares for me – not on my own. I worry not, oh, come what...

A call for endurance: The Christian life is a marathon, not a sprint.

“Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12 ESV) Remember, brothers and sisters, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will face persecution. It will be a hard struggle, and we will face many...

    But, Are You Willing?

The question is not, “Is God able?” For our Bible’s not a fable. The question then is, “Are you willing To surrender, your life giving?” When Jesus gave His life up for us, Died on that cross, so He’d free us. So He, in His death, conquered our sin So that we might walk in freedom. So, there’s...

    Return to Me

Even though we, as believers in Jesus Christ, are underneath the New Covenant relationship between God and his people – his church – it is still possible for us to sin, and for us to wander away from our pure devotion to Jesus Christ as our only Lord and Savior, and for us to have need to return...

God's Love Poured Into our Hearts

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”...

    His Song is with Me

Sometimes in our lives we have days when we are not as chipper as we normally are. We don’t feel well, or someone has done something to us to hurt us, or things are just generally going bad for us. So, we may begin to focus on the negative rather than on the positive. Thus we can’t see the...

    She Often Refreshes Me

“You are aware that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains, but when he arrived in Rome he searched for me earnestly and found me— may...

When the Cares of My Heart are Many

“Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law, to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage; for justice will return to the righteous, and...
