  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Lutheran Hail Mary and the Orthodox Angelic Salutation

I had previously mentioned to my friend @MarkRohfrietsch and my other Lutheran friends such as @Ain't Zwinglian and @ViaCrucis and I think also my Anglican friend @Shane R that the Orthodox form of the Hail Mary tends to either be identical to the Roman Catholic one, or so similar in wording as...

    My Meditations: An Introduction

Last summer, I tried to do a line-by-line meditation on the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory be. I only managed to get through a few lines of the Our Father, before other things distracted me, and there were also a couple of other things that were going on during my meditation that...

Hail Mary, for the keeping of our Baptismal vows

In todays reading, for my 33 day Marian Consecration, Fr. Michael Gaitley spoke of how, one of the aspects of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, is the renewal and keeping of our Baptismal vows. Indeed, in the original Montfortian prayer of Total Consecration, the first paragraph reads...

    Hail Mary, full of sorrows

Hail Mary, full of sorrows, the Crucified is with thee. Tearful art thou among women and tearful is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of the Crucified, pray for us, crucifiers of thy Son, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. (Indulgence available for this prayer, provided it's...

    TradCat Rosary Novena

I've realized that, I've failed to connect with my fellow Traditional Catholics on CF. I've been more preoccupied with Evangelization than with helping my fellow TradCats. It kind of reminds me of Fr. Chad Ripperger's comment, that TradCat families have a tendency to act like the mafia, being...

    Marian Devotion Light

This might be a bad title for the thread, because what I am about to discuss may in fact be very important to people's prayer lives and thus may not be "light" in the sense of a light beer or something that is less substantial. It may be just as substantial or more substantial. I was just...
