  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Encouragement for Christians

Encouragement is good, wouldn’t you say? We need it to survive throughout each day. The people in our lives spurring us on Are such a blessing from God – Christ His Son. But what if we don’t have it? What to say? Can we still make it through this anyway? E’en if all forsake us, what say you...

Mutually Encouraged by Each Other's Faith

“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last...

    Why are You Cast Down?

“As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, ‘Where is your God?’ These things I...

    From Beginning to End

Written on August 12, 2024: I have been a little under the weather today and I am very tired. We had no plans for today, so I have been resting up a bit. When I was up for a little while, and my husband and I were talking, the subject somehow went to the songs that the Lord had given me to...

    Comforted by the Lord

“For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn—fighting without and fear within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as...

    Comfort Others Who are Afflicted

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus...

If You are Standing Fast in The Lord

“For now we live, if you are standing fast in the Lord. For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God, as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith? “Now may our...

    We are Destined for Persecutions

“Therefore when we could bear it no longer, we were willing to be left behind at Athens alone, and we sent Timothy, our brother and God's coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith, that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are...

    The One Who Prophesies

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their...

    When I Was Walking

April 4, 2024 Well, on April 6, 2011, thirteen years ago, the Lord Jesus gave me my very first song to write. And then on January 16, 2020, the Lord gave me the last of the 185 songs that he gave me to write for his purposes, and for his glory and praise. These songs were to be an encouragement...

    Just Like Twins

If we are encouraged From being in Christ, We share in his comfort, And Him we are like. We share in his passion, With tender hearts, too. We share in the Spirit. He’s made us anew. Then, filled with compassion, We have the same love As Christ our Redeemer, Who came from above. We love one...

    The Firmness of Your Faith

“For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery...

    What's Our Purpose?

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that...

    Refresh My Spirit, Lord

Sometimes our bodies get tired and need rest. Other times our spirits get tired and need to be refreshed, i.e. our emotions sometimes get drained, or even our spiritual lives might feel like something is missing. Sometimes it is because we lack true Christian fellowship with the Body of...

    Our Awesome God

On May 25, 2011, I was sitting on the sofa in the evening, spending some quiet time alone with God before I went to bed, and I was asking him to speak to my heart whatever he might want to say to me. The words to one of the Psalms began going through my mind about praising God, so I walked...

    In the Great Congregation

“I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you: You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! For he has not despised or abhorred the affliction of...

    Never Will I Leave You

On May 11, 2011, I had this horrible headache (from an incoming or outgoing storm) all afternoon. I was sitting on the sofa crying and praying for Jesus (in His name) to heal me. Then He put this song, "Never Will I Leave You," into my heart to write as His message to me to comfort and encourage...

    I Will Uphold You

In Isaiah 41 is found a promise to God’s chosen people, Israel, which is now the church, the temple of God; Christ’s holy bride. God is promising those who are his that he has chosen us, and he has not rejected us, so we don’t need to be afraid or alarmed when things begin to go crazy in this...
